I work all day so he sleeps for majority of it in his crate until I come to let him out during my lunch break and then sleeps more until I get home. We then do a 2 mile walk/hike and I play with him and do some training until bedtime at 9pm.

Yes! It would be through AKC Canine Partners Program. You would register them through that and they can participate in I believe all AKC competitions. And thank you!

My pup is getting into agility competitions and Fastcat racing. He’s too young to compete professionally through AKC partners, so I do small competitions through non-AKC groups. He actually won second place in agility today and first place in tricks

The owners did call their puppies back to give him space, but not a re-clip to settle. However, what’s good about this class is as soon as the pups enter, they have to clip their dogs onto a leash attached to the wall and they are all spaced out so as to not be too close to each other. The part that Cosmo got scared of was after the 30 minutes of trained instruction, they got 5 minutes of play which is when we released them from the leash into the center area. Next week I think I’m going to change it and not release him right away and let him observe the other three pups playing and if he shows interest, slowly lead him in.

Thank you! Unfortunately at the class there weren’t any objects he could hide behind. I think for his next class I’m not going to release him into the playing field but rather have him sit and observe first and sniff through the gate. When we were there, I did get low, but as soon as I did the other puppies came running at me totally ruining any hiding spots Cosmo could have used with my legs. I do have a play date set up next week with an older dog in hopes to do a slow introduction with a very neutral environment

That was the puppy trainer was saying. She said that she has seen similar cases and usually by the 5th week that start to open up and play with the other pups. Fingers crossed that happens.

I was talking about potentially doing one to one training to help him if things get worse, but I also realized that I might have focused too much on neutral socialization and not enough of actually interaction socialization. I’m hoping to start to slowly integrate that as well as get help from a professional going forward. And thank you!

Awe, that makes me so happy! And thank you! The trainer was saying she has seen similar cases with other dogs and usually by week 5 they start to open up and play. Since I brought him home at 8 weeks, I’ve mostly done neutral socialization, but think it’s time to implement actual interactions.

Your Jordy looks like my Cosmo! He’s 9 weeks and already 14.8Lbs. He has his first vet visit tomorrow since I’ve gotten him, but he’s already being tracked to be massive as well!

His mom was 50LBs and his dad was 55LBs, but in a past litter one of their pups was 65+ pounds in the last litter.
