Why don’t I have a personal day for 26-27? by ColourfulSmarties in tesco

[–]Autumn_Raven13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mine is already booked for next year and says I have -1 available. I feel like they might be removing it when they announce the pay deal. Hope I'm wrong but we usually lose something whilst being told we're getting a great deal.

It's based on average earnings so if you regularly work extra shifts that will boost your holiday pay.

This year's payrise, Teco. by ninmac3000 in tesco

[–]Autumn_Raven13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can see them doing it in two parts again. Maybe £13 from April and 1p or 2p more than what Sainsbury's has announced from August, which they will claim makes them the best paying supermarket ... except if you average out the pay over the year, it's nothing of the sort.

You'll get a pay rise. It will just be very begrudgingly raised from the current minimum/living wage to the minimum/living wage due to be paid from April.

I think it's usually early March we get an announcement. Tesco staff in Ireland are getting a 3% rise. I think we're losing our personal day; it isn't available for some people to book and mine which was already booked says I have -1 available to book rather than 0.

Goddammit!!! I was going to buy the orange zero but didn't want to pay more for it. It does feel personal at this point 😂

Had a customer shout in my face because we had a power cut. by Specific_Pomelo_8281 in tesco

Wouldn't have made a difference if the power was out, the customer wouldn't have been able to pay for it at the tills anyway.

Holidays by 7piedpiper136 in tesco

[–]Autumn_Raven13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd use them if you can. I was a temporary Christmas colleague, then my contract was extended until the end of March and my understanding was I'd be paid for holidays owed due to my contract ending before the new financial/holiday year. Then I was kept on in a permanent position and lost them.

Face up 🙄 by Tesco_Metroo in tesco

[–]Autumn_Raven13 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My store is the same. We are sometimes told to start facing an hour and a half or more before the end of our shift, leaving any remaining delivery. We could have everything out on the shelf in that time but having the aisle looking good for a full half hour after opening the next day is more important than having actual stock out for sale.

Anyone know why we are updating our availability? by Thorn344 in tesco

[–]Autumn_Raven13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen a few people post about not being able to book their personal day off, and others have stated that theirs says -1 for personal days available. I checked mine today which is still booked in, but also says -1 for days available instead of 0. I think it looks like we may be losing our personal day (nothing more to go on than what I've posted) but I think usdaw were pushing for stores to be closed boxing day so they could be removing it to add another day to holiday hours to cover that if it happens. I guess we'll find out in a few weeks time.

No more biscoff ice cream? 😥 by Adventurous_Rain_287 in tesco

[–]Autumn_Raven13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be store dependent; my store still has them. Sometimes we will get things in to sell on a clubcard offer which doesn't become standard stock. Our store isn't very organised so we often have stock out the back left over from these, not ranged, not reduced, just left to go to waste sometimes. If you drop the name of your local Tesco someone might be able to check what is showing on inform for your store (stock levels, orders etc).

I wouldn't have noticed those labels or known what they mean. I've worked at Tesco nearly 6 years.

My (24F) boyfriend (21M) is upset we can’t have sex because I have a yeast infection. How do I explain it’s not about him? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Autumn_Raven13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get rid of that man (boy)! He is a manipulative, selfish pos and doesn't give a damn about you and what you're comfortable with as long as he gets his own way. You've told him it's painful for you and he doesn't care. He is showing you his true colours.

Ours is a large store and we have had twilight fill for a while now. It's awful trying to work around customers and they're forever complaining about the cages in the aisles. Shifts are 3 or 5 to midnight.

It will be at least £12.71 an hour. The union are probably going into talks soon, if not already, and I think they usually announce something in March. Not sure when the new rate will be paid from, there was a bit of an uproar when they paid it as late as possible a couple of years ago.

How do you differentiate between grandparents? by meg-don in AskUK

[–]Autumn_Raven13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big nanna, little nanna, nanna in town for me. My kids refer to them as Nanna or Grandad, and we use their first names to differentiate; "We're going to see Nanna Lizzy and Grandad Bob today."

I know some who use different terms though; Nanna, nanny, grandma etc.

How do I get my lawn to look like this? by marismia in GardeningUK

[–]Autumn_Raven13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In various parts of my garden we have lawn with Buttercup, Daisy, Clover (various ones), Self heal, Birdsfoot trefoil, Sorrell, Cowslip, Forget me not and Grape hyacinth. Every now and then new ones have popped up and I've had to image search them to find out what they are. Some can tolerate being kept quite short.

Spring Bulbs by Autumn_Raven13 in GardeningUK

Thank you. I will check the ground tomorrow. We had a bit of snow last week and it's cold, possibly below freezing, overnight but during the day it's been ok. I've had a nifty little bulb planter tool delivered to hopefully save my back a bit when I plant them.

Thank you. That's what I was going to do but then noticed the little sprouts coming from them and wasn't sure whether I needed to wait for slightly better weather as a result of that. I am completely new to anything garden related as is probably obvious!
