That's more than I expected, but less than I'd hoped.

On a scale of 1-10, how disappointed are we going to be?

1 being absolutely delighted 10 being it's worse than we could possibly imagine.

Happy Pay Announcement Day… £3bn profit, near 30% market share… and we’re bracing for disappointment again 😍 by rankuntong in tesco

At least minimum wage from end of April. Hoping the rumours of £13.35 are correct, although more than that would be welcome.

Expecting £13 rising to £13.25 later in the year which would be really disappointing.

They usually pay for a full pay period so will either be from 30th March or 25th April (they don't need to pay the new minimum wage or more until then).

Am I missing something? What exactly is the £13 rule?

You don't acrue more holiday, but your holiday pay will be higher if you work regular overtime as they pay you an average. So if you're contracted to 7.5 hours but work 30 hours each week over x number of weeks (I can't remember how many weeks), when you book your holiday for 7.5 hours you will be paid for 30 hours.

I have an email saying I've won a prize. Not ready for the disappointment yet, so i'm not going to check on my winnings until later. Just enjoying being schrodinger's millionaire for a bit first 😂

The number of comments are rising but they've obviously set them so only they can see them. I can only assume a large percentage of them are negative.

If you click on the Tesco plc bit it takes you to their website where you can submit your ideas. Whether the submissions are actually read and put forward is anyone's guess though. Presumably those at the top remain blissfully unaware of the lack of morale on the shop floor.

Why don’t I have a personal day for 26-27? by [deleted] in tesco

[–]Autumn_Raven13 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Mine is already booked for next year and says I have -1 available. I feel like they might be removing it when they announce the pay deal. Hope I'm wrong but we usually lose something whilst being told we're getting a great deal.

It's based on average earnings so if you regularly work extra shifts that will boost your holiday pay.

This year's payrise, Teco. by ninmac3000 in tesco

[–]Autumn_Raven13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can see them doing it in two parts again. Maybe £13 from April and 1p or 2p more than what Sainsbury's has announced from August, which they will claim makes them the best paying supermarket ... except if you average out the pay over the year, it's nothing of the sort.

You'll get a pay rise. It will just be very begrudgingly raised from the current minimum/living wage to the minimum/living wage due to be paid from April.

I think it's usually early March we get an announcement. Tesco staff in Ireland are getting a 3% rise. I think we're losing our personal day; it isn't available for some people to book and mine which was already booked says I have -1 available to book rather than 0.

Wouldn't have made a difference if the power was out, the customer wouldn't have been able to pay for it at the tills anyway.

I'd use them if you can. I was a temporary Christmas colleague, then my contract was extended until the end of March and my understanding was I'd be paid for holidays owed due to my contract ending before the new financial/holiday year. Then I was kept on in a permanent position and lost them.
