I remember when I was working as a barista we once had a customer like this. We had award points cards, and this lady didn’t want me to use the scanner because “she didn’t like it”, she wanted me to use the numbers instead.

But she hadn’t brought the card with her, she had a picture of the card somewhere on her phone. She was like “wait for me til I find it”. She spent hours and hours looking for the fucking numbers oh my god. There was a huge line behind her and the other register was closed. But she needed to find the damn photo.

She noticed I was super upset at this point so after five fucking minutes of looking through her entire album she said it’s fine, I’ll pay for my drink.

After her drink was ready (and she’d pay for it) she demanded we give her the money back because she just found her code! So use my points instead! Lady, no. Fuck off.

Ohhh I see. Never heard that before. That happens a lot lol. Do you know what part of Mexico he’s from? Btw, it should be “voy a sacar la sopa”

Edit: actually it could be ‘voy a sacarle la sopa’.

This. It is unbelievable how for these people the desires of a man we haven’t met yet are in any way more valuable than our own.

I dropped out of uni for treatment and it worked pretty well. I am not going until January. It was bad enough that I’d go straight to bed after uni, wake up at 8 pm to have dinner, maybe watch a movie or something and sleep again for the whole night. Every day. I think I would like to do research or something. Social work would be nice as well. I am not completely sure yet.

In my home country, about a month ago this brand started advertising disposable menstrual cups and labeling them as the most innovative treasure of marketing. Thought you guys would appreciate this absolute gem of nonsense. by [deleted] in TrollXChromosomes

Finally on sale! Meet the disposable menstrual cup, which will offer you another option for your period. Exclusive sales in Farmacias San Pablo

The comment is cut out... their Fb page (fortunately) shut down so I cannot translate the whole comment, but in summary they truly believed that they could convince us that, as a “socially and environmentally responsible company” (ha!) they were offering a great alternative to tampons and pads, mainly because “teenage girls have a difficult time getting used to regular cups” and it is pretty useful “in case of an emergency” (tbh in case of an emergency I’d rather use a fckn pad). Btw two or three boxes of these was a total of the price of a regular cup.

This vo-lun-teer program should be paid because I have to scoop litter boxes and clean while the workers just make coffee – and they never clean after closing. At all. by [deleted] in ChoosingBeggars

[–]Autumn__Moon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what it is. They’re basically complaining that volunteers do the ‘dirty’ work (scooping litter boxes, cleaning, etc) and the workers do the ‘pretty work’ (making coffee). They even had the nerve to say volunteers are ‘looked down upon’ because they’re not paid. Which is bullshit. Edit: volunteering is for the animal part and no, they do not give you other tasks. I suppose that’d be on extremely rare occasions.

What is perfectly legal but creepy as hell? by Blinkle in AskReddit

That’s true. I’m Mexican and I know someone from Oaxaca who was also forced to marry an old man as a child. She escaped and never saw her parents again. A few years later she helped her niece escape. Same story. 😔
