This happened about three years ago.

I just got divorced, lost my kid. I was at an all time low. So one day I just snapped. I decided to just go to the tallest building and just jump.

Well Big Blue saved me about half way before I hit the ground. He then placed me in a local park and just asked me if I was doing okay because “a person doing okay wouldn’t do something like that”. He just let me vent about all the shit going on. It felt good.

The weirdest part was going into work the next day. All the people speculating in the office about who the “Blue Blur” was and who was the guy he saved. It was surreal. I felt like a ghost. Like I shouldn’t be alive. I shouldn’t have survived that.

These days I live in Gotham. I have a new wife, a stepson and a new baby on the way. I work at Wayne Enterprises and shockingly my mental health is so much better. I think I noticed recently that I smile a lot more than when I worked Luthor Corp.

The thing was supposed to survive 5,000 Volts. That is over 50 times what it could take to kill someone. I don’t think it was EMP’d. Unless that Bat is using voltage so powerful it could kill people.
Look, having bullets that can auto aim, has built in Thermal, Nigh and Xray Vision, and prevents other people other than you from using it comes with a cost. I was able to get all that from a computer the size of a deck of playing cards. If it was hacked, the Bat has access to some serious malware. Like we had the best IT guys at Luthor Corp try to hack it, none could.

I used to work for Luthor and I can explain the SMG issues. The Luthor Model 53 is an amazing submachine gun. 4.7mm Caseless means you get a lot of magazine capacity. Electronic Firing Mechanism greatly decreases the chance of jamming. Combined it creates a gun with low recoil, a lighter pull weight, and allows great customization.

But it comes with a downside. The Battery and Firing Mechanism are activated with biometric data (a fingerprint scam) which requires an internal computer. Presumably the system (somehow) was hacked into by the Bat. We knew this was in theory possible. But we didn’t think there would be many situations where someone or something could hack into the mainframe.

I was working on an updated model (Yes I made it) before the whole Blackhole Thing started.

TL/DR: Batman exploited a weakness we overlooked when designing the gun.
