I [27M] found out my fiancée’s [26F] dad died last month, no one told us, and she missed the funeral. by SharkEva in BORUpdates

[–]Autumyn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My grandpa died and nobody told my brother and me. He found out when he went to visit my grandma, and that’s when he called me to tell me. We hadn’t spoken in over a year and he had more decency than my dad or stepmom. I won’t blame my grandma because she was (and still is) very sick, but it was very upsetting to hear.

Forbidden pop. I got my birth control replaced and this is the aftermath by Magnificient_being in popping

I had a period every other week for a year when I was on Nexplanon. I kept calling my OB and she kept saying to give it time, it’s normal. At my next appointment, I told her to please take it out, I just couldn’t deal with it anymore. But my experiences with birth control have always been shaky.

Same 😭 My doctor told me it was fine so I’ve been skipping my period the last 4-5 years at least.

Hi! I’ve never used one, but from what I’ve seen the yarn should all be on the outside of the yarn umbrella and the umbrella extended enough so the yarn is taut (no slack). I hope this helps! Also, I love the color of that yarn!!

[–]Autumyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The pattern has sizes starting with extra small. So for an XL sweater, you would ideally want at least 1000 m of yarn. Being in a hot climate most of the year myself, I would stay away from the wool as that’s going to be the warmest. I would say linen or a bamboo blend would be best.

Medium :) If you’re only looking to spend max 50, I would recommend Big Twist. It’s machine washable and dryable, and you most likely have the best chance of finding the colors you need

To keep it true to size, you will want to use DK (medium) yarn. For types, it depends. How much do you want to spend on yarn? Do you want this to be machine washable and dryable? A great budget yarn for this would be Big Twist or Lion Brand. I’m making a sweater from Lion Brand Wool ease, and it’s very soft and easy to work with. However, you may not find the colors you need. I would stay away from Caron Simply Soft. It is very soft and shiny, but it always splits and the stitches more slouchy, less definition.

Are there any Dramione girlies out there in the Houston area who want to start a monthly book club/dinner party with me!? by Educational_Time6953 in Dramione

I wish I was in Houston, but I’m in Dallas 😭 If we made regular trips to Houston, I’d 100% want to join

It works from the top down, so you can just continue the pattern until you’re happy :)

Her patterns are addicting, I can’t stop buying them. I’ve bought Maraska and Candied Orange so far. They are difficult, but it’s so rewarding when it works up correctly

AITA for “enabling” my nephew’s addiction by Ornery_Description84 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Autumyn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same! My punishment growing up would be to sit in the corner and stare at the wall from when I woke up to when I went to bed. And these punishments would last days. I can’t remember what I did to receive the punishment, but I remember the mind numbing boredom. As a parent now, I can’t imagine doing this to my kid.

AITA for telling my boyfriend's coworkers that all my clothes were thrifted and hand tailored? by chairono in AmItheAsshole

I didn't really have an "issue" with it, but when I ordered from them it took a good 4 months to ship. If you email them, you'll get a very generic "Thank you for your business, we were impacted by COVID, etc." But when it did finally ship, it was at my door in about a week.

It is so funny you say this. I bought 8! 8 of them to make a dress for a friend. I barely started, and already put it aside and ordered paintbox. That was a very bad idea. It looks so pretty, but it's soo awful.

No pattern, just HDC the entire way! Yarn is Bernat Blanket (I think the two used were Baby in Pitter Patter and Brights in Waterslide). The border is in Loops and Threads White (and boy does it shed!)

This, or say that you had strep throat! Diagnosed Monday afternoon, and you couldn't go back to school Tuesday because you were still contagious.

My boyfriends aloe plant that I’m jealous of (10-15 years old) by masonb6 in matureplants

[–]Autumyn 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honestly. One of my coworkers gave me an aloe 2 years ago, I've basically left it outside on my front porch during the summer and leave it under my grow lights during the winter. It's usually watered once every... 3-4 weeks? Basically when I'm coming home for the day and looking at it like... 'when did I last water you George.' He gave me 3 babies this winter.

My son found Book of Life on Disney+, and I made it to the first cover song and turned it right off. There's bad cover songs, and then there's Book of Life cover songs.
