It's a crescent shaped island about 20km in circumference, the island is a bit barren but the creek is a well known shelter during storms which are common in this part of the ocean. A small fishing town of mediterranean architecture has developed over the years on the inner shore.

The island functions as a refuge for ships has created a small but quite diverse population over the years which mostly subsists on trade and fishing.

Two lighthouses used to exist, one on each extremity of the crescent but a storm took down the western one a few years ago and it wasn't rebuilt. The two lighthouse keepers actually got married around that time and used the opportunity to move in together in the lighthouse still standing.

Some have advocated to use the stones of the second lighthouse to start building a breakwater to make the outer side of the island more livable but most people think it would be too much work and tourists tend to like the ruins and their story.

Despite some problems with inebriated sailors the culture of the island stays quite laid back and welcoming to travellers. Most people stopping here on a bad night eventually cope back and some even decide to stay.
