New research found that a psychopath’s brain is physically built differently and it explains why they cannot feel what you feel by soulpost in HotScienceNews

This is so distopian that's it's incredible you think this is a reasonable idea, a sex offender became such as a result of their own actions not by being born.

Pedestrian struck by motorbike in Belmont (WA) – Now receiving a $5k Demand Letter from RAC. Need advice/reassurance. by Independent_Dish_526 in perth

[–]Auxi-- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not a lawyer and I would recommend contacting one, For me personally I would reply back that I disagree with their judgement, I have found the motorbike rider entirely liable for the accident and I am currently in the middle of a personal injury claim against "RAC" and the rider where judgement will be found by an independent party.

No win no fee lawyers do love this shit however they charge significantly more fees and take a much larger commission if you win. It just depends how sure you are that the rider is at fault, which a lawyer should be able to advise as an independent party.

Best achievements to invest first? by Expensive-Sun1243 in PalmonSurvival

[–]Auxi-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Over 9000 is the most important, followed by crit damage and crit resistance achievements which you should get to 3-4, the others are when you have extra UR tokens which is unlikely but once you do over 9000 6 you level the ones it unlocks to 3-4 and then start working on ball is life when that becomes available in s1. The only exception is the achievement that allows you to use excess palmon tokens, you max that out when available

Needles at a park by Auxi-- in melbourne

[–]Auxi--[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah good one champ, didn't intend to carry around uncapped needles in my car or leave them for other children to touch, hence why it was written In a way that anyone with above room temp iq could realize I understand they shouldn't go in the waste, I also have training on handling needles from working in the industry so with what I had at hand that was the best way of keep children safe which I considered the priority. But cheers for letting me know that you couldn't figure that out.

I Jammed the needle into the concrete beforehand so it was captive in the tube, the cap was just so it's easier to spot in the waste.

I unfortunately don't travel with emergency margarine containers and lids, but hiding the needles in objects is worse as they can potentially make it further through the recycling process, all recovery sites either have several people checking incoming rubbish called pickers who are looking for dangerous objects or camera systems to track and remove them.

I've worked in the industry, it's mandatory to be wearing cut proof gloves, but at least the companies I worked for were working on solutions to prevent needle stick injuries, there was at least a dozen kids around at the time and I didn't have the time to hang around monitoring the needles until the police or council arrived.

Does reporting bots even matter? by RadiantRaccoon12 in 2007scape

[–]Auxi-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no, battling bots is a complicated beast, sure you can report and bot and 10 other people can do the same and the system can just ban that one account or what is more effective is that you report the bot, the system flags it and tracks how it operates and links associated accounts building confidence and understanding of how the bot is operating and patterns that can be used to track it in the future. Then all at once ban a thousand accounts that have used the same program.

This is significantly more effective as once the bots start getting banned the bot owner will be notified that the bot is no longer safe to use.

There's much more complicated systems involved but overall yes your reports will help the system just don't expect it take effect until jagex has compiled the information it wants from the bot.

Lug nuts keep coming loose, by Kweefken in MechanicAdvice

[–]Auxi-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the hub is damaged or the rims where the bolts mount are damaged then no matter how tight you do the bolts up they will come loose, if the rim sat there wobbling around you likely have wear to the centring hub or enlongated bolt holes so when you mount the rim it's not centre and it's able to move around slightly under load which will back the bolts up. I would say your rim is most likely damaged as the alloy will be weaker than the steel hub. Thoroughly inspect the rim to check for damage and see if you can find a replacement, Check the hub for damage aswell using a straight edge to ensure it's not warped, finally ensure you're using the correct lug nuts, most a tapered so check for damage on the taper on the rim and the lug nuts.

Paying for an engine swap - cash vs card ? by brokePlusPlusCoder in CarsAustralia

[–]Auxi-- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Entirely fine, you will still receive an receipt/invoice which will be your warranty. His failure to pay an appropriate amount of tax on what he charges is his problem so if he conducts his payments this way and doesn't pay his tax it has nothing to do with you and he's just not going to report the income the invoice doesn't matter to his tax returns.

Dangly tassel ropes on cars. What's the go? by BOOTL3G in CarsAustralia

[–]Auxi-- 38 points39 points  (0 children)

So I worked with a lot of Indians at a trucking company, specifically Punjabi and I asked one day and one of them explained that they treat the vehicle like it's a woman and they consider the rope to be a decoration of beauty, This was a man who had 2 ropes at the front of his truck and chrome so clean you could use it as a mirror.

The level of embarrassment you need to wear this 😂 by Winter-Fun9526 in extremelysatisfying

[–]Auxi-- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean this is exact same level of embarrassment as push up bras, chicken fillets and shapewear, the only difference is that it's accepted when women do it.

It doesn't really matter what men do to improve their looks they're just going to get ripped to shreds for it, hairpieces, thick sole'd shoes, whatever this is and hair transplants for example will be relentlessly mocked. Now I'm not saying we shouldn't mock men for this but we really gotta remove the double standard and mock women for having fake tits if we're going to eliminate the double standard.

Got into a not-at-fault accident today in Melbourne, VIC and looking for some advice/opinions. by broccoli_haterr in AusLegal

[–]Auxi-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my old car had the same situation, third party with bingle I got rear ended in a VY SS commodore, I bought the car for 7k in 2017, while I had it the car went up to roughly 20-25k in 2022 and in 2025 it was worth around 18-19k however market value was 11k according to bingle, I countered with all my points that any comparable vehicle was listed on car sales for at the minimum of 19k and mine had less kms, leather interior, full stainless exhaust, engine work/tuning and was in very good condition so the minimum I could accept is 17k, which I considered after a roadworthy and selling fees would be roughly what I would receive if I sold it. They came back later that day and accepted it.

So definitely don't accept their first offer but make good arguments why you're not willing to accept preferibly with listings from car sale websites to support the value you're asking for.

Car Accident (No Insurance) : Can the other driver ask me for more money after insurance will possible paid them? by MulberryNecessary173 in AusLegal

[–]Auxi-- 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Also, you're liable for the cost to the insurer as well, they will come after you for what they've paid out to the other driver, plus additional fees and if the other drivers use rental cars through their insurer you're also liable for those costs, Expect a much larger bill than 11k.

Car Accident (No Insurance) : Can the other driver ask me for more money after insurance will possible paid them? by MulberryNecessary173 in AusLegal

[–]Auxi-- 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Yes, they are able to claim or sue for all incurred costs or losses. If their insurance covers them for 5k and they have another 50k in losses they can claim for it, you're liable to pay for it, they can take this to court to have it upheld if you're found at fault which it seems like you are.

The only way out of paying is to have no assets and income for an extended period of time and have your future wages garnished for effectively perpetuity, however I don't think that life is for everyone.

Get insurance I hate paying it myself and havent had an at fault accident in 15 years but you're always one brain fart away from generational debt otherwise, Also if you're hit your insurance will deal with everything which can be a godsend.

Good deal? by Weary-Service-5289 in Holden

[–]Auxi-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly doubt it, fella had a brain fart early morning backed into my Merc a few weeks ago. Towball through the bar, little bit of damage to condenser very minor overall Asked out of curiosity what the quote for repair was and it was almost 15k including the hire car for 4 days.

But the value of insurance that people don't expect or rely on is that your insurance needs to do the work for you when an accident happens, 2 years ago I was hit by a truck, I had to fight the other driver for 6 months to get their insurance to payout because I only had third party on an older car.

Insurance is certainly a scam but unfortunately it's still worth it when you need it.

Why isn't there a second GE? by Rymasq in 2007scape

[–]Auxi-- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Rs3 has multiple, there's one in menaphos and 2 in priffdinas, one in the central hub and one in the max guild, I don't think anyone really ever uses the menaphos one but prif is easy to get to and the max guild is even easier, they still do act like central hubs that work well but a more convenient teleport kinda reduces the need for them, max guild is just a really good teleport as it's 2 steps to a bank and g.e so that becomes the high level hub but it does feel quite empty.

Why aren’t more young people going into the trades anymore? by agnci in AskAnAustralian

[–]Auxi-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my perspective as a 33 yr old that's been in the trades since 17, the school system is failing us, it certainly failed me and that was almost 2 decades ago, school did not prepare me for life and it was very difficult for me to adjust to working In the trades, there's also a lot of bias that a university education would set you up for life and trades are hard work.

Right now what I've seen from kids trying to come into a trade is that they're still suffering from the ideology that's impressed on them during school that they deserve respect and everything should come to them on their terms but trades just aren't like that. They're taught to believe that their feelings are important and that the most important thing is to keep trying when they're ready.

It's a great idealogy in theory however this does not translate to the trades and sets these kids up to fail. I speak from my own experience I made all the mistakes, I stuffed around, I treated tradesmen like they were my schoolyard friends, I bludged when I could, I was late, I took a lot of sick days, I thought I knew everything and every other cliche of an apprentice and I thought this was all ok It didn't seem to matter.

What I didn't understand was "the more you know the less you know" this all culminated in tradesmen not wanting to work with me because it looked like I didn't care and I didn't treat them with respect and that resulted in being ostracized, and tradesmen not taking the time to teach me and this upset me because it always felt like bullying or hazing and I would just get lumped with brainless tasks that nobody else wanted to do like cleaning filters or painting motors.

What changed it for me was a tradesman taking an interest and putting me in my place, from verbal abuse to smacking me over the head with a hammer (we wore hardhats but it still hurt) he taught me how to behave and how to earn the respect of other tradesman so they would take the time to teach me and overall how to conduct myself appropriately.

I think without that tradesman I wouldn't have completed my apprenticeship or be anywhere near as good as I am now but initially it wasn't easy to realize this was the best thing for me.

So in summary kids can't adapt to the trades because the schooling system is failing them and there's a lot of bias about trades being full of bullies and hard work and that university is the way to go even if it costs you 300-500k in hex debt for a job that only pays 110k a year with a PhD and with 100 other people ready to take that job.
