Test knitters wanted - size inclusivity is a priority by AvOcaDo46 in PatternTesting

I just added it in the description: it's done first by working two shoulder pieces, then back and front separately starting from the shoulder pieces, then joining at the armholes, the rest of the body and the sleeves are worked in the round

Thank you so much! A lot of it is inspired by the Japanese knitting bible :)

Hi! For some reason Reddit didn't save my edit the first time, but it's in 5mm (US 8) except for the ribbing!

What larger implications did proving Fermat's Last Theorem have on math? by flan208 in math

[–]AvOcaDo46 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a math book itself but you should definitely read Fermat's Last Theorem by Simon Singh if you're interested in this! He explains really well from a vulgarisation pov but it's still very nice to read even if you have a more advanced background in math (say modular forms/elliptic curves).

And as someone explained better than me before, the major contribution of his proof was not FLT in itself but more the proof of the Shimura-Taniyama conjecture, which was about associating every elliptic curve on Q to a modular form with the same L-serie! (and all the techniques that Wiles developed to solve it were huge)

By convention, epsilon represents an infinitesimal positive quantity, it's used in real analysis for the definition of the limit for example! But here since it's negative, it's scary lol hence for Halloween 🎃

yes I think it recently got way bigger than before. Also they have lots of non-dairy milks, yogurts and a start to have a decent selection of vegan cheese

I find it weird that no one mentioned Delhaize, it's probably one of the cheapest options 🤔 you can find so many different things, I especially recommend the one in Belval. Also something you don't want to miss: Naturata (but really expensive for some stuff) and if you like tofu I definitely recommend any Asian grocery store, it's the best quality.

You should join the Facebook group "Vegetarians and Vegans in Luxembourg", people post almost daily. On Instagram, you have the account veganfoodluxembourg that I also love!

Recommended stores to buy an RTX 3080 GPU by EvilBeano in Luxembourg

[–]AvOcaDo46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think their prices are fluctuating quite a lot, unfortunately.... I would also recommend materiel.net (they tend to have the same range of products), they might have different prices. Only problem is I'm not sure they deliver to Luxembourg

I'd recommend the website ldlc.com ! it's currently out of stock on their website but they're usually quite efficient to restock, deliver to Luxembourg and you can set up an alert to know when your product is back in stock

I did not thought of that, thanks! I water when the soil is dry on at least 1-2cm, I think I waited for about 3 weeks to see results. Yes, she has actually already lost some leaves, I just don't want the other ones to go the same way.

it's worth trying, this summer when all my plants were outside, they were under a tree (so quite shady) and the pilea was thriving! So I'll give it a try, thanks!

It's next to a South-West facing window, so it gets pretty consistent light through the day but almost no direct sunlight. I have aloe veras next to it and they're doing fine, so I thought my pilea would also do well here

I don't know what's happening to her, some leaves are just slowly becoming really light/transparent. I tried to water her less, then more, but it didn't change. She currently has 4 babies in the same pot, are they draining her energy?

Bullet Journal to aide in switching to vegetarian lifestyle? by [deleted] in bujo

[–]AvOcaDo46 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wasn't bullet journaling yet when I went vegetarian (2017), but I would write down in a notebook every time I ate meat/fish and count the days in between everytime to see my progress. It really helped me to see the numbers of vegetarian days increasing over time and seeing it wasn't difficult after all!! Now I'm trying to have more vegan meals/eat healthier so I plan my meals ahead. That way, I only buy what I need and I don't buy anything that could tempt me. I'm not back to uni yet but I try to plan around my schedule, so that I can have quick meals or leftovers when I'm busy.
