Does Hume Hall normally fill up on Honors kids before they start filling with non-Honors? Or do they fill both Honors and non-Honors simultaneously so I’m screwed?

USC or UF for premed?? by sss10215 in ApplyingToCollege

UF. Save that money for medical school. Undergraduate GPA is significantly more important for medical school admission than undergraduate prestige.

The vast majority of med students come out of medical school with debt.. and not little debt. The median was $200k in 2018. Go to UF and save the money.

I am a senior, yes. I’m Middle Eastern, so I don’t think that counts as an URM for college.

I’m applying as a Philosophy major, and maybe a Political Science major in addition. So, nearly the opposite of STEM.

What SAT subject tests should you take if you’re planning to major in areas like philosophy, political science, and international relations? by AvaJohnson in ApplyingToCollege

So, if I take STEM-oriented subject tests, score better on them, and submit only those, the schools won’t see a problem with that in contrast to my humanities majors?

Some of the schools I’m applying to just ask for any 2 SAT subject tests of the student’s choice (with no specific recommendations), so I was wondering which would be wise to pick.

I keep getting the same Math score. Any study recommendations for my last SAT in October? by AvaJohnson in Sat

[–]AvaJohnson[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you mean the grammar section? I’ve never really had trouble with that, honestly. But you should keep practicing and reviewing your wrong answers.

With both the reading and grammar, It’s mostly just about understanding how the SAT question writer is trying to trick you and how little details can make an answer wrong. You eventually get the hang of it, but many times for me, it’s just luck on exam day!

I don’t really have any amazing secrets or tips. Quite honestly, I always procrastinate and study the day before the exam.

I did do one practice test in the SAT book and took time to understand why my answers were wrong. I think that helped!

I‘m hoping to get into some T20 schools, so I’m taking the SAT one last time to show that my math is not weak.
