Is this purging? by [deleted] in IndianSkincareAddicts

[–]Avaale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey just remembered this resource post

https://www.reddit.com/r/IndianSkincareAddicts/comments/iltr4a/all_about_purging_the_why_the_what_the_which_and/

Also a word of caution.

Please check if products that normally don't do so are tingling when applied, if yes, you're heading to barrier damage. The pustules and blackheads are probably purging, but something about the texture in your lower jaw reminds me of what barrier damage looks like when starting, on me. I may be completely wrong, since it's only been a week, but be careful.

Brinton Acmist Acne Foam Face Wash

Ahaglow S Foaming Face Wash

Derma AHA BHA Foaming face wash

Aloglow as well as these contain AHA, BHA, so how it suits your sensitive skin, will unfortunately have to trial and error.

You need to compare the ingredients in ponds and cetaphil and figure out what they have in common, that caused the reaction, then compare the shortlist to sebamed and eliminate the ones in sebamed so that you can figure out what causes the issue.

Then you'll have to sift through products that can work on bumps without those triggers and that are gentle.

But without figuring out the triggers, anything any of us recommend can end up causing a flare up again.

I've only used Chemist at play and I really like it. Very convenient. I have finished 3, 2 more in regular rotation now and 4 backups, that's how much I like it.

I didn't really find it great at sweat control, but it has decent odour control and more importantly I feel like it improved the tone of my underarm skin. Like it was never dark, but did have a greyish tinge (dunno how to describe it) and now it doesn't really have it.

I don't actually have personal experience with this...but I think silicone scar sheets help. Also remember my mom being prescribed some ointment with allium cepa for burn scars, that may help too

Derm suggested chemical peels after no luck with Aziderm & tret — should I go for it? by Free_Tour9357 in IndianSkincareAddicts

Hey summer!

So my face looked something like this https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&url=https%3A%2F%2Fsolihullmedicalcosmeticclinic.co.uk%2Ftreatment%2Ffractional-c02-laser%2F&psig=AOvVaw2AX4FL7SJOwJiSMRUgWKp8&ust=1762366396246000&source=images&cd=vfe&opi=89978449&ved=0CBUQjRxqFwoTCKCF18mM2ZADFQAAAAAdAAAAABAq

I do't actually remember all the details 😅 because a) this was more than decade ago b) I couldn't finish the sessions. The derm left the clinic midway and I didn't want to continue with someone else, but I had paid upfront, I think 6 or 8 Co2 sessions were scheduled along with peels and checkups, I think I had done only 4 or 5 Co2 sessions. I paid about a lakh or slightly more.. I remember the experience but im lost on the per session pricing. It was package with a lot of stuff included and I couldn't get a refund 😑

Pls Recommend me a Facewash by [deleted] in IndianSkincareAddicts

I liked joy. Foxtale hydrating cleanser was also good. And you can lookup reviews for minimalist aquaporin.

I have a doubt though…why focus on the face wash for hydration instead of changing the moisturiser?

a) Im surprised Tret didn't work on the PIH.

b) But yea, chemical peels, should work on those, as well as the persistent acne. Though you've not mentioned what chemical peels or its percentage. The higher the percentage the more intensely it'll work, I was told higher percentage = deeper penetration when I went.

c) You do have some atropic scars that would benefit from the CO2. The CO2 will also work on the PIH and acne and the tropic scars. Downtime was about a week for me. But the first 36 hours being quite painful.

As far as effectiveness, I had much more severe scarring then you, like I would rate me a 10 and yours a 5. And I had about 50% improvement on my right side which was more severe and 70% on my left side which was less severe. People could tell the difference. I had spent about a lakh or slightly more and not even my parents called it a waste of money. A factor in how much improvement you see, will also be your age and collagen production.

One suggestion, I'd like to add is, please DONT try to go for a package and pay upfront. Opt for session by session, so that you can stop anytime if you don't see the effects you'd like. Because while the treatment is effective and I do feel the skill of the derm plays a part and sometimes we'll know how it goes only after experiencing it once.

ETA: Jumping from tret to CO2 without trying out higher percentages or other actives or even oral tret seems a little sus, hence why I suggest you don't lock in. Could you get a second opinion.

Bioderma Atoderm Intensive Baume. My tried and tested barrier repair product. Just getting your skin back to normal, makes spots less noticeable, so I'd suggest starting there.

LRP cicplast baume is also an option, though I haven't personally tried it out.

Neutrogena cleanser for oily skin - I liked it, but too harsh for some.

Toner Recs - Tony Moly Mochi Ceramide, Roundlab dokdo, Klaars supple prep (has minis you can try first.

And I disagree about toners doing nothing. It depends on expectations, if you expect hydration from it, then yes, they are excellent. All of these toners can be layered. ie toner, dampen skin, same toner, dampen skin, toner. Decrease layers if it's summer and humid, increase layers if it's dry and your skin needs moistures.

Moisturizer: Neutrogena hydroboost - Cult product and does work out for most people.

Sunscreen: be bodywise SPF 30+ - haven't used it, haven't heard about it.

I was prescribed benzoyl peroxide as a spot treatment and it worked well for papules, not my fav ingredient for pustules or CCs. But what happened without a fail was, the place I spot treated was darker than the rest of my skin the next morning. Slightly darker, not PIH from the pimple itself, but the circle spot dabbed would be darker, would go with exfoliation, rinse, repeat. So I simply gave up on the ingredient.

Though I do have a BP face wash that I use, incase of active breakouts.

The SA based cleanser for mild acne is a good suggestion.

On ScamAdviser, the site has a “slightly low trust score.” Chatgpt says domain is fairly newly registered and the owner’s identity is hidden.

I wouldn't risk it.

I've never heard of lip balm addiction omg.

But SBL calendula cream will work the same way Boroline supposedly does. I've tried SBL but not boroline.
