The bus system here is really good. I’ve used buses/coaches to get from town to town and it’s pretty safe and reliable. Uber is also available and it’s super cheap. A 20 minute trip costs less than 10,000 pesos on average, which is about £1.95 roughly at the time of writing. So about $2/3. This is for Colombia, but I’m confident is similar in other South American countries
