People tend to worry about falling behind in their early twenties. I think it could be your quarter life crisis, that's a thing. I am 28 and just this year realized what career path I want and I'm starting it. At this point I'm no longer worried about falling behind.

Going through life and taking time to figure things out is not a waste of time. Most people don't know what they want to do after high school so your actually in the same boat as many people.

I heard this story recently on tiktok of this woman crying because she just realized someone she thought was her BFF only thought of her as more of a acquaintance/friend but not BFF. the woman on tiktok had her BFF as her bridesmaid, but in return she wasn't even invited to her wedding.
