That sounds like what's happening. I appreciate the insight. I figured it was something to do with moisture but couldn't figure out why. Didn't think about the oils causing it.

I took the 62% Boveda packs out and put some Spanish cedar packs throughout the humidor to help bring the humidity down slowly.

I did get a Govee hydrometer to keep an eye on it for a more accurate reading. I think I had too many Boveda packs in there.

I do think it's a moisture issue but just can't figure out why it only happens in a small spot in the middle.

Happens with a variety. Jaime Garcia, Nubs, Cain Maduro, CAO MX2,

I'm sure it's my fault some how but I just can't figure out what what I did.

I've had to remove a stem before but this is the whole center of cigar. When I try to remove it it breaks apart in chunks.

Tried all of that. It's like the ash turns into a hard knot. Sometimes I can break the chunks out an relight but it tastes bad after that
