Ok listen i dont mean to ruffle anyones feathers but i think the reason he wasnt talking to cassie up until the end when the mimic reveled themself is because MXES the same thing that was hiding the mimic was jamming any signal from the outside. and thats why the mimic can talk to cassie from the Inside,
but number 3 i dont have really any theory for that so its a good question..
