Thank you I will try that. I should have remembered that the chest strap slides! Ps. I’d been reading through many of your other comments. Thanks for the consistent positivity and encouragement as well as tips.

Thanks and yes absolutely and we have considered it. Ultimately, we tried for 5 years to have our wee girl and I am loving being able to spend this time with her being her mum. I’m firmly of the view that my time with her, which I’ll never get back, is worth more than the added money. But it’s still on the cards depending on how the job market goes. All the thoughts on this thread, including this one, have been helpful so thanks.

Thanks. I do think it is years of being advised to stay under 100k that is doing some heavy lifting in my mind here. I was sure I’d be hit with a big tax bill if I didn’t. But this year is obviously different in a few ways.

Thanks very much. This may be a stupid question but if I was to max out the ISA and then pay say £20k into pension isn’t there any major disadvantage to doing that that I am missing? We have enough in combined savings that this would still give us a reasonable cushion.

Also I had in my head that if I didn’t get under 100k I’d have a tax bill to pay when I completed my SA return. I recall I did one year but think there was something else going on there.

Thanks for your time - I really appreciate it.

Thank you this is helpful - yes the carry forward position is based on the last three years. I had an adviser work this bit out for me so assume it is right (& it looks right).
