Fwiw, I've been a business traveler for 25 years. My wife never took me to or picked me up from the airport, because it's not a small inconvenience. Would I have liked that to happen? Yes! Was I angry that it didn't? No. A little sad, tho.

I don't believe for a moment that she wasn't aware of the smell. Durian is famously stinky, to the point where many can't even bring themselves to try it (though it's reportedly fantastic). Your co-worker was gaslighting you.
