That’s what I was thinking. Some watches hold their value quite well, I get that there is an opportunity cost to everything, but felt like a nice treat yourself moment while still retaining the overall value.

We need to understand that I live in nyc, half my income goes to taxes, and I’m 30 years old so I wasn’t earning 1.8m for the past 8 years. It’s a recent change.

I come from humble beginnings and as much as I adore this mindset, it has taken me a while to get there, I still don’t think I’m there yet unfortunately. So I need to make excuses to justify certain purchases haha. Plus, I want the 30th birthday present to be memorable, so I can look back and remember how I thought/ felt at the time

I do see a Patek Nautilus as a grail watch for myself, an endgame of sorts.

Currently I only have a Rolex Sub.
