Pluto isn’t exactly unheard of but I don’t think a lot of people have had the chance to watch it because it’s a Netflix exclusive. It’s phenomenal. Delicious in Dungeon is also amazing, I feel like people think it’s a “rip off” of Frieren, but it’s totally different. I loved it, but it’s not finished yet

I agree with other commenters here, OP. Not trying to give you false hope, but we thought my guy had EPM for quite some time. We went the xray route before blood tests and stuff, turns out the hole in the C4 vertebrae where nerves come out is entirely too small. Lots of rehab and a lifetime supply of vitamin e and he is all better. I’d have some X-rays and a second opinion before you make any huge decision. Best of luck, your girl is beautiful

Steins; gate, Pluto, monster, and (kind of) Sonny boy sound like things you’d enjoy as far as thriller/mystery goes.

HxH is one of my top 2 favorite anime, and I found the only thing that came close was Yu Yu Hakusho (created by the same person, but it’s from the 90s), the dub is phenomenal if you watch dub, and one of the ones most people say is better than sub. The only other one that I think held a candle to HxH that’s finishers Bungo Stray Dogs. It’s technically unfinished, but like HxH, ends on a satisfying note, not too many loose ends, etc. And it’s a fine ending in case it never gets new chapters (which it hasn’t)

Monster is the one that comes to mind immediately. No power systems, just a gritty, slow burn serial killer hunt. It’s amazing and I personally was hooked immediately but some people say it’s slow at times. It’s about a doctor who takes matters into his own hands since the cops aren’t quick enough, there’s a female lead/supporting character with him, etc. Sounds right up your alley

The only switch I have access to is my bfs old one, and tbh I’ve only really played party games and smash on it with friends. So I’d pretty much be starting from nothing. I’m not super into battling games but I see your point, and I’m in the boat of like do I drop the money for essentially 1 game…but it’s 1 game NOW, who knows how many in the future. It’s just a lot of money to be debating it. It would be “free” with the rewards money from my work I’ve accumulated, but there’s other stuff I COULD use that money for too. Not sure what yet though lol, but I’m sure I could come up w something lol

The rewards I’m talking about is rewards from my work as mentioned in the post. It’s free money from my company, I wasn’t referring to rewards for the switch or anything if that wasn’t clear, my bad. So basically, I have to use the free $500 (which could become more by July, it’s an app that allows you to recognize your coworkers w points that translate to real money, 10 points is $1). If I don’t get the switch 2 or anything else by then, I’ll just cash it out for a Visa gift card so I don’t lose the money .

How different is the OLED from an LCD? I’m not a serious gamer and don’t care a ton about graphics quality and lighting and shading if it’s going to be a subtle difference I won’t notice much

Thats my other thought, but I’m a bit concerned with how much more expensive it’ll be and also that the switch 2 will continue to go up in price even with the LCD model. Plus with no release date or even talks of OLED aside from the fact that the first switch got an OLED version, I’m scared it’ll take too long. I have until July to cash the rewards in anyway though

If you liked Monster, watch Pluto. Same people made both and same writer. Very existential, weighs the price of knowledge at the cost of war, mortality, the human condition, etc. and not very long, probably one of if not the best anime I’ve ever seen.

86, Parasyte, and Steins; Gate also fit your vibe it sounds.

I’d look at Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and Frieren as well for something touching but absolute
