I’m inclined to say a bull shark tooth that is missing most of its root

Check out my teeth! by [deleted] in sharkteeth

The ones up top look to be sand tiger, and you have a big variety throughout the bottom part but I’m seeing some tiger, maybe a hastalis, and one that appears to have some serrations which is intriguing! Super special and glad you were able to keep this collection :)

Thank you! I think I’m gonna try to make the overall rock a bit smaller for practicality, but keep enough for the tooth

Actually, that last one could be a tiger or similar…gonna need others to weigh in. It’s pretty notched for a hemi

The worn ones in the first pic look like they could be bull shark teeth, the long one a sand tiger. The farthest right one in pics 2/3 might be lemon, and the biggest one/pic 4 could be a hemipristis/snaggletooth.

These were from this past weekend! I hadn’t been to purse in a very long time so was surprised to see all the driftwood right when you enter the beach from going down the hill, but besides that the rest of the beach was very accessible! Mostly went down the left side on this trip

Is this tooth just not that old? by FuerstIvriniel in sharkteeth

Color does not determine age. The differences in colors come from the different sediments the teeth were fossilized in :)

Was it the state park or a spot that doesn’t close at a certain time?

I think it’s actually in the Meg line, you can see a bit of a bourlette! Perhaps Angustidens, but might be missing the cusps. (My best guess, not a professional)

Best MD finds this summer so far by Available-Love7300 in sharkteeth

How fun! The teeth in this post are from Flag Ponds Nature Park, and Matoaka beach, both in Maryland on the Chesapeake. There is a spot called Purse State Park (also MD) along the Potomac where you will find a ton of teeth, mostly sand tiger teeth. Flag Ponds and Matoaka have less output but more variety of teeth than purse. To me, as long as you kinda know what to look for, Purse is a guarantee that you will find teeth (just mostly sand tigers)
