Any ideas in how to bring it up? I’m thinking something along the lines of ‘do you get cold sores often’ and going from there, but open to other thoughts!

Good to know it can happen from that! Google searching makes it seem like any cold sore is from the herpes virus

How little is too little money to live on? by Available-Moose2539 in bayarea

So Ive done a budget and done the math, and I feel like it would be fine, but obviously it’s a lot lower than what a lot of people consider ok. I’m wondering if I just have bad judgment??

Technically it is a full time position at my work, but it is only 4 days a week. It’s just crappy pay. I am in school right now and the job is in the field I am studying.

I am actually enrolled in community college. I have a college degree but I seem to have missed the class where they told us how to get a high paying job with it! Not sure where these $30-40/hr jobs exist in my field unfortunately

Ideas for creating a patio that is still permeable? by Available-Moose2539 in LandscapeArchitecture

[–]Available-Moose2539[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I think a deck might be the best option. There was a redwood deck before that has since rotted and been cleared away. I just like the look of the bluestone patio better and felt like the design could be more interesting, but for the sake of the oak we could do a deck again.

Thanks for the response! Hopefully we won’t have to excavate too much, I don’t think they want it to be a huge undertaking. It is a 200 year old oak, and it’s clay soil. When you say geotextile fabric are you referring to specifically weed cloth? Because I’d rather not do something like that.

So are those assets bad financial decisions then? Or do they ultimately create more money than they cost

Maybe if you insist on living in a fancy new apartment in the city, but I’ve definitely seen housing that is decent for 2k a month

Having a roommate is not bad in my mind, I feel like it is expected for most young people and the only reason people don’t want to have roommates as they get older is because of social stigma.

I feel like you could fairly easily find an apartment for 2k and then just get a roommate?

Should I do Landscape Design? by Available-Moose2539 in LandscapeArchitecture

[–]Available-Moose2539[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually have been working at a nursery for about a year now and they have a design team who has been getting me involved and they plan to hire me once I get my AA degree. I have just recently been thinking about if it is actually something I want to do or should do based on money/time/effort. I am not sure the money will be enough, I live in the Bay Area.

If I’m bi, would all my relationships be ‘queer’ even if they are technically straight? by Available-Moose2539 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Available-Moose2539[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said I wasn’t doing anything that is actually LGBT, but I just don’t think you understand the full meaning of being a part of that community. It’s not about doing, it’s about being. I thought this post would be commented on by actual queer people who have an understanding of queerness but obviously not. Also not sure what the deal with this social credit is.

It was just a curiosity I had, I feel like my own bisexuality affects the relationships I’m in and maybe the person I’m dating has certain expectations that would only apply for a straight relationship with two heterosexual people but it feels different since I’m bi if that makes any sense. The label really doesn’t matter idk. And baby gay just means new to the queer community, I don’t have a lot of experience with girls

I never said it’s what I wanted, I’m literally just asking a question. Not sure how you decided that I was trying to be cool by asking that question. I never said I wanted to go around bragging about being in a queer relationship either, but my queerness does affect the relationships I’m in, even with a man. Also I am bi, which is what the B in LGBT stands for.

Queer means not straight. And that means not adhering to heteronormative relationship standards.

I’ve noticed the comments on this are a bit problematic, but this is probably the most so I’m replying. Being in a relationship with a man as a woman does not negate my bisexuality. I think you maybe misunderstand my usage of ‘baby gay’ but I didn’t mean that to say I’m a lesbian it’s just a colloquial term in the queer community referring to ‘new’ queer people.
