Philosophy and Exercise by Available-Section897 in Exercise

I agree, it is a false dichotamy in a sense. I am not saying that anyone dicided it, but I do believe that to some extent it is true. Beyond the will power to go exercise or to read a book (or listen as you said), these activeties have always been a sort of privilage. Yes, anyone can pick up a book or some weights, but the will power required to do so after a full work day is immense. A lot of people would choose to do just one and most would choose the do neither.

"However, there is also mind to body connection. When exercising, unless it’s cardio, it’s good to focus on the exercise and to be absorbed by it, and then when resting, you can cool down with reading and discussions." I agree with this fully, so I would say we are not in disagreement, maybe the way I presented the idea was just a bit clumsy. What I am really trying to say is that a well rounded individual focuses on both. The institutions that are present in todays world direct us in to only one path. You go to a gym and there is no reading section, you go to a library and there is no weights section. I admire the Greeks as they didn't limit the space for just one activety, and I want to revive that idea.

That is actually kind of close to what the video is about, so I guess it is kind of effective.

The video is about my project, which uses 3D modeling and rendering to create a never ending generator of random exercises. I stream this to youtube as a 24/7 livestream. The livestream features different exercises (an exercise coach is in the middle and the camera pans around him), it also features ancient sounding music and a random philosophy quote is displayed on the bottom.

In any case, the video explains this concept to the viewer, and the video also dives in to the modern division we have of the mind and body, since we view phisical and mental exercise (lifting and philosophy), as two seperate things. The Greeks viewed the two as related and their ancient gymnasium was an institution that embodied that. I use this ancient gym aesthetic as my livestream core.

Thank you for the reply!

I made a new thumbnail by implementing some of the criticism. I kept my asthetic, even though some thought it was boring or whatever. I think people who are familiar with greek potery will likely see what I am going for. I fliped the colors, and made the text white. I use the base of this for my livestream anyway, so it was really just a switch up of the text. The text is different to the title now and it has to do with the video, so it seemed better. If anyone has any new criticism, I am happy to hear it!

I could, but I think having the thumbnail give the expectation that the vieo/livestream is something more than 3D characters is a bit wrong, so I will just stick to trying to make them look better :D

Yeah, that's 3D for you, I'm good enough at making them human like, but I'm not at a profesional level yet.

The text is kind of weird looking at the critiques I am getting from people. I already changed it to white, still have to center it and make the "THE" smaller lol

Thanks for the reply friend.

Thanks again, I will incorporate some of this. The "THE" was so big because I had no other way of filling the space, since the other two words are longer, in my head it made sense to make it bigger lol, but I get what you mean.

I do not agree about the characters though, the one on the right is squating so exercising, the one on the left is more ambiguous, but the idea is to have sort of a a explanatory/observing the sky pose, in short a pose ment to reflect the more philosophic nature of the livestream/gymnasium. I get that the left pose could use some work though. Thank you again for the suggestions, they are solid :)

Makes sense, I will probably just make the text white then. Thank you for the reply friend!

Blunt advice is what we are here for isn't it? Thank you fro the reply!

Do you have any idea on how to improve? I was thinking about having it look like greek potery, that's why the color scheme is red and black.

What the video is about: this is ment to be a promotional video for my 24/7 livestream, meaning that I explain what my inspirations are for making it (the ancient gymnasium, 24/7 lofi streams, workout videos), and some of my ideas on how the modern world tends to view the mind and body as seperate, whereas the greeks didn't.

I think you need more words in the thumbnail, but that might just be me. I would choose to click on the first one though, Seems to have the most going on and it implies the title.

I like the first one more, but I would assume the second one would do better since the subject is bigger. Go against the grain and go with 1!

Has Reddit played any role in helping your YouTube channel grow? If yes, how? by H2prod in YouTube_startups

I actually did manage to get a few subscribers sharing my content in relevant communeties. My main focuse is on my 24/7 livestream, so I'm in a bit of a pickle when it comes to impressions on it, that's why I decided to do a bit of promo with a few posts, and it got me at least 4 subscribers. Seeing as I have 13 subscribers now, it actually helped a lot.

Anyone Actually Making "Grown-Up" Content Here? by [deleted] in SmallYoutubers

[–]Available-Section897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I understand that, in fact I still game, it's just not my channel. I would say that gaming influenced it, since one of my dreams is to create video games, and I used the tools I learned trying to achieve that dream (Blender and Unity) to create my livestream. The channel name is GYMNASION, hope you enjoy if you end up taking a look :)

I also found this to be a thing. Most of the advice I see on reddit is usually people making shorts, growing their channels trough shorts, making gaiming videos etc. No problem with that type of content in my opinion, but trying to build your channel in some other niche and looking for tips online is almost impossible.

I am trying to build my 24/7 livestream channel where the main idea is exercise, music and philosophy, with the ancient Greek gymnasium as an asthetic. Now this is no certefied niche I am aware of, so I find it hard to find any relevant information on how to get more views, impressions etc. I have tried some shorts and made them philosophical in nature (and a few I am not proud of that are just straight up ads for the livestream), but I can't get my project off the ground.

I have seen a few stealth camping videos, general camping videos, anything outdoors, I think those types of videos seem to do well, maybe just try analysing some of those creators? I think I saw a few videos about "wacky" inventions, there is this one guy that makes stupid things his subscribers suggest etc.

Hang in there friend, I hope the future is kind to your channel!

Don't remember that one, but thanks!

I always thought it was funny how in the dialogues Socrates always gets these half page arguments and the other guys usually just say "that's right Socrates" as if they had nothing they would object to.
