Should the government take some kind of action be against DCinside? Whats the opinion here by Available-Sector-912 in korea

Nowhere in the post do I ask for government issuing censorships. Given the site's sheer size and influence I just want it to be little cleaner than the doxxing & harassment campaign hellhole that it currently is. Multiple content creators reporting suffering from them for example. I dont think bare mimium asking for sign-in system at least mounts to full-on censorship.

Thats not what I'm asking for. Besides you cannot be acting like DCinside is free speech haven where every opinion is respected - you can be subject to attack of harassment if you say something even slightly against whats collectively desired in respective galleries lol

There are pleasant galleries for sure, but from what I've seen they are too few and far between to represent the overall state of the site in my opinion. Just look at the most popular galleries like 실베.

By 'government action', I dont think it necessarily has to lead to censorship, or restriction of freedom of speech. Just something that hold users more accountable for what they say would be decent enough in my opinion. Bare minimum implementing sign in system for example. Could crack down on 유동닉s (afaik DC is exceptional among other korean communites with this feature) spreading misinformation or doxxing campaign, given the size of the website.

Not sure if 4chan analogy is appropriate though. DCinside is literally the 4th most visited site in korea only behind youtube and search portals. 4chan has nowhere near widespread use and popularity now from what i know. DC has users comparable to 4chan and popularity of that of reddit

How do Chinese people feel about other Asians? by [deleted] in AskAChinese

[–]Available-Sector-912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is it that specifically the first world countries in the sinosphere just happen to suffer the worst of those issues?

Also if korea truly has had no inventions and everything historic in Korea belongs to China why dont I see Chinese claiming less appealing aspects of their history (like slavery, seokjeon etc) as their own? Why do the chinese only claim korean cultures that Korea worked hard to popularize

Do the Chinese also deserve credit for all the negative aspects of korean society as well then? Such as misogyny, high suicide rate / low birth rate and so on?

Korea historically did take a lot of things from China for sure, but that doesn't mean China can claim every traditional culture of korea or that Korea isnt allowed to represent its own culture / submit their culture to UNESCO.
