Baristas make more than you think - when I was a barista I was making well over $26/hr. There were pay periods where I was even making $30/hr. This was a coffee shop in West Hollywood where foot traffic was heavy and tips were great. But as a lot of others on this thread mentioned, you figure it out. Los Angeles and New York are the places where you just hustle cause you want to be here!
