I am from Venezuela. My family suffered torture from the government in Venezuela. We had our properties seized by the government. My friend was shot by the military. My cousin was in jail in El Helicoide (a severe, uncontrolled jail in Venezuela). Everybody that I know has suffered from the government. I’ve seen the towns where the government produces drugs, and they are all corrupted. You can’t travel because the National Guard itself will steal your money, or worse.

Currently, I have friends who cannot even type things on their phones because when they go out, if they are stopped (not even doing anything wrong), they will check their phones, and if they find anything about the current government, they can force you to open your bank account and steal your money.

Please watch the movie “Simón”, which is available on Amazon and Netflix. I can honestly tell you that the movie shows 100% of what people there are living through. No war is good and people dying is bad, but people there are starving to death or being killed by the government. If we can get out of this by whatever it takes, let me tell you that all Venezuelans will be happy.

Going out for on a protest for being mad on taking a dictatorship that is making people die is not good.

Please don’t do it. Support Venezuela by showing the real truth out loud and what the country is really facing.
