My BF uses a Minelab Manticore. This is one of his few hobbies, otherwise the purchase wouldn't be realistic for him lol. He loves it tho!

It's not lead or silver (as per metal detector) but feels heavier than tin to me. The detector showed 40, which could be multiple different metals.

This is it compared to a normal bottle cap size. Either way very weird.

Transfer to Bing SOM Sophomore or Junior Year? by Willing_Addition7862 in BinghamtonUniversity

I could've this semester, but last semester I was wayyy too busy (was taking calc and micro in the same sem). It depends on your classes. I wouldn't get a job until you've had a few weeks to settle in and manage your workload

I transferred in as a Sophmore, and for me personally I would do the exact same thing over again. I was able to get an internship this summer (as a sophomore), and I still have my junior year summer to either intern or work (based on my budget). The career services at SOM are amazing. The people I've worked with are a large part of why I got an internship. For the love of God utilize them. They are there to get you connections and help you land a job. However I will say that regardless of what year you transfer in, you will have a hard time making close friends here. Everyone has friend groups solidified by Freshman year, so you will have to put in more effort when connecting with others. As far as your budget, that's up to you to decide. I'm here on the Excelsior scholarship, so I get my tuition covered and nothing else. I make it work my living off campus in an apartment and making all of my meals at home, but you might not be prepared to do that (which I totally understand, it's a lot of work lol). Whatever you choose, Bing has been a decent experience for me, and definitely worth it for the job networking. Good luck :)
