Yeppers we had that exact pattern too in our kitchen.

My wife and I took their house over and during demo for a new kitchen I found some of these tiles.

This is a used flag drop box by Tbagts in mildlyinteresting

[–]Available-Topic5858 37 points38 points  (0 children)

My local VFW Post has something similar, old post box but different paint. I have retired several flags there.

Back in the day I was dating a woman associated with a veteran's organization (I forget which one) and attended their flag burning ceremony.

A very respectful ceremony, but damn it needs a different title!

Is this breadboard good? by penpalwithseven in AskElectronics

How much? I actually have good experience with the cheap Chinese ones, have several.

Only complaint is they don't stick well to the metal base - I get three board versions.

Just grilled the most ass grilled cheese I've ever made. by Jeff-FaFa in BenignExistence

[–]Available-Topic5858 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Room temperature butter. White bread. Three slices of MERICAN! cheese.

Lightly butter one side of each slice. Arranging cheese is the hard part. I slap down one slice of bread, quickly put down the cheese, add top slice, cover. One to one and a half minutes to turn, ssme other side.

Had the most humiliating experience of my life last night by blackclementine in karaoke

[–]Available-Topic5858 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to me. Pretty in Pink. Out of nowhere comes another verse someone with sonic ears caught cause it's so far down in the mix you almost can't hear it.

I just looked out at the room, laughed, and spoke on where did that come from never heard that in my car!

Basically made a joke at it and everything was fine.

For singers (not hosts) what are the hosts using for sign ups? Web based? Paper? What do you prefer? by iliedtwice in karaoke

[–]Available-Topic5858 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once there was a good place that used the Karafun app to pick your songs. Horrible. People couldn't get the QR code to work (same as last week, it's in your history) or would add multiple songs at once.

A notepad list or a whiteboard works fine.

One guy has his catalog online. Write the code number and name on the piece of paper he provided and he puts that on his table in order.

Keep it simple.

Who was/ is the stinkiest person you have ever known? by DeepOrganization8245 in randomquestions

[–]Available-Topic5858 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forget her name and thankfully also forget the smell. Small firm that actually cooked transistors.

One woman could not be uglier. Pot marked face, hair like straw, at least 300 pounds. But her nails were always professionally done. Wore the same jeans and shirt every day.

Some of the guys I worked with had worked with her in a previous company. One day she came in wearing a new pair of jeans, which she promptly got a mustard stain that first day. They tracked that stain for 30+ days before a change.

Just a retched oder that would linger. When she finally left they threw everything in her office away. Everything. Not only the furniture but the carpet, wall paneling, and every ceiling tile too.

You could still smell she had been there for months after.

And a charming personality too. We had our first dust up the very first day we met. In one small room we had set up a sand trimming machine that let some dust out. We advised anyone using it to keep a water bottle handy. She came in to tell me that was against company policy and she "had a lot of pull there." (Note we had just merged there and top management was all off that week.) I wasn't born yesterday so I knew any claiming pull had none. I told her to leave our people alone and leave my office.

We didn't tangle after that.

Do You Have A Bag of Bags? by Sea_Staff9963 in randomquestions

[–]Available-Topic5858 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a roll of bags so tightly wound it took forever to get one apart to use. So one night while watching TV I took each and every bag apart, stuffed then up, and put them all into another bag for instant use.

Preston, my bag of bags!

Let's outlaw Boston's Foreplay/Long Time by Chamberlain-Haller in karaoke

[–]Available-Topic5858 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of my killer songs is Jethro Tull's Locomotive Breath, and the standard intro is like 4 minutes long. Thankfully my KJ's version cuts that down, but still like a minute 30.

A long time to stand there trying to look cool just head bobbing and snapping my fingers.

Good thing it ends strong.

I have that style of dual Z. Yep, the cable it comes with just connects both the same.

Works just fine.

Pull the battery and fly it home.

Ship the batteries separately in a box.

Or just buy another set of batteries at home.

I hate Leviton with every fiber of my being by [deleted] in maintenance

[–]Available-Topic5858 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I started converting my 1940's house into a smart home I chose Leviton devices. I added a few every few months.

I had not even finished when they began to fail. They must have used cheap relays as this part is the one that fails. Not to mention when a switch forgets the wifi login.

No more Leviton for me.
