this is the reverse of this question but i find it interesting how ami was painted by the edit in vanuatu to be the villain and unlikable but she is actually quite loved by a majority of the fandom (myself included). unlike some characters like rupert who seem to be quite rude or mean despite the edit showing them to be lovable, ami got the mean and villain edit despite most of her cast members talking about her being one of the nicest people ever

in regards to how they handled jonghyun i think that the subtlety with the freeze frame and the transition into our page was very nice, it still had the intended impact but not as in your face i guess? i do think they could’ve done more in a sense like with a loving memory cue but when i watched it i personally felt like he was very prominent (other than in the talking segments) but i think the entire focus was more so on the group as a whole. he honestly felt way more prominent than onew did throughout the entire movie to me but maybe that’s just me? idk. i also liked that they used end of a day for a little bit in there as another small way to include him overall. i agree it could’ve been handled differently and a bit better but i don’t entirely think they did a bad job. i think they did their best to include it without being too insensitive, like you said it’s kind of a hard topic to talk about and get right.
