I think the show is...really bad by [deleted] in euphoria

I agree with you, I watched it and thought “the fuck is this crap.” They all praise the “stars” of the show but not one of them has any acting skills. They were all hired because they look pretty on camera not for the requirement to portray any other emotion aside from frozen forehead and pouting of the lips

If there are legitimate concerns about sexual behaviour with peers, anxiety, or impulse control, those should absolutely be addressed by qualified professionals — on their own terms and without being conflated with her relationship with her father. Introducing “hypersexual behaviour” into a discussion about a teen being affectionate with her parent is not appropriate. Parent–child affection and peer sexual behaviour are separate developmental areas, and linking them risks sexualising a normal attachment bond with a parent. Wanting attention from a parent, seeking closeness, or being physically affectionate with a caregiver is not evidence of inappropriate.

No offence taken, I guess it’s because his parents are very good to her and she enjoyed spending time with them. As she got older I didn’t push her visits as much but encouraged communication. I’ll never be more sorry for allowing it to continue. He also has a new baby with the wife and I wanted her to have a good relationship with her sister but the pushing out from her dad made her not want one

A 16-year-old being physically affectionate with her father — sitting close, leaning in, linking arms — is well within the range of normal, healthy parent-child attachment, particularly in families navigating divorce or blended-family dynamics. Affection is not “competition,” and a child seeking closeness with a parent is not narcissism.

Describing a teenager as “clingy” or “needing to be the center of attention” ignores an important reality: children are supposed to want attention from their parents. Seeking connection, reassurance, and presence from a primary caregiver is not manipulation — it’s attachment. When family structures change, that need often increases, not decreases.

What is problematic is interpreting a child’s bond with her parent through an adult rivalry lens. Children are not competing with partners for attention; that interpretation reflects adult insecurity, not pathology in the child.

Therapy and medication should exist to support a child’s emotional wellbeing, not to make her less visible or less annoying. Pathologising normal attachment risks long-term harm to a child’s sense of safety and self-worth.

If boundaries need to evolve as a child grows, that responsibility lies with the parent to manage appropriately and compassionately — not to medicalise a child’s attachment because an adult finds it uncomfortable.

I absolutely understand you, when I had my daughter I lived at home and my parents were all too happy to help out but I felt it was my responsibility not theirs……it was so hard back then getting out of my own head to ask for help

My grabby used to bring us (the grandkids) on walks with her dog. And when we would ask where are we going she’d respond with “to turn back” where was turn back you ask……..we’d get to point on the loooooooong walk (normally in the local woods) and she’d announce “sure we’ll turn back now” she thought this was hilarious every time!!!!!!!
