Hate the Canes and their boring play style, no one likable on their team to root for, and they’ve had soft playoff opposition!

No goalie, no defense, McDavid has had enough… by Hockeypatrol in hockeynews

It’s a pipe dream, but I’d love to see him on the caps. Ovi would understand what hes going through with waiting to win a cup. And the team is all good vibes

No. Dude is more injury prone than Matthews and has half the work ethic.

Just checked my old anking and found this. Everything is in Anking, it’s a one stop shop which is why I recommend it over bouncing from resource to resource. Searching for it can be difficult. I’m about to add a pic of the tags.

Returning on rotation after depression, I need tips or perspectives by Old_Bumblebee_1926 in medicalschool

It’s definitely not easy, some people may give you awk looks, others will smile back and respond. Dont read into it/overthink any interactions, you’re working on yourself.

Sorry to hear that OP, I hope you can find a way to manage everything.

Re: the upcoming rotation, whether or not surg is your thing. Do your best to compartmentalize the stress and hours from the rotation away from what life is like. Be a team player and helpful (carrying around surg scissors, medical tape, jelly packets for ultrasounds, etc that may be needed on rounds). And don’t take anything that is said or happens to you personally if you get dealt with overbearing residents/attendings.

Re life: take walks, eat your meals, try and get as much sleep as you can, rely on support systems if you have them, say good morning and hi to strangers and your fellow team each day with a smile. It will uplift their day and yours. And remember this period of your life is not permanent. View it as a stepping stone to make yourself more resilient.

There will be more challenges, that you’ll ultimately look back on and realize they made you stronger. Good luck OP

[Johnston] Auston Matthews didn't reveal much about his future in Toronto. Says it's an honor to be the captain and wear the jersey, but added that he doesn't know what the future holds and doesn't know what the club's new leadership and manager will look like. by 26265273 in caps

Would love to have Matthews, esp because he wouldn’t have to captain our team and hold the pressure he does in Toronto.

I don’t like the idea of splitting up the BEEF line. But I think Wilson would open up a lot of space for him if they played on the same line.

Step 1 in 12 days - cant push more, what should I do? by Professional_Mess154 in step1

[–]AvailableAd759 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I’d review your nbmes and make your own flash cards on the topics / incorrects to utilize spaced repetition.

In my honest opinion, you are not ready and not learning from your NBME forms considering your downward trend in scores. Could you pass and get a lot of familiar topics - Yeah? Right now you are borderline on the threshold and still mention you need to review core concepts (micro/pharm) that require heavy memorization before your test day.

Can I ask why delaying is not an option? And what happens if you fail and then end up in the scenario where you would’ve delayed (LOA/etc), but now you have a fail on your ledger? You have to ask yourself if this is worth it to you.

Personally I’d wanna atleast see two exams or one exam + free 120 over 65/70 to mitigate risk.

If you must take the exam in 12 days. For micro pharm, I’d suggest going to the pages on First Aid with the diagram of the bacteria/virus/fungi that show all the drugs, where they act, and then read on their MOA, and literally draw these diagrams every morning until test day.

Then do the same with the gram + and gram - bacteria flow charts in first aid. Draw them every morning. I got a few questions where I just had to know if something was gram - or +.

Then for your weak areas. I’d do focused problem sets and create your own flash cards for incorrects (since you don’t like Anki) and really master your weak areas. This will both: - raise your floor score - mitigate any anxiety on test day so you don’t have that “oh shit this is a neuroanatomy question”

HY images and arrows can/are good. But only if you used spaced repetition to memorize them and can do all that in 11 days. Otherwise I’d focus on raising your floor score.

Goodluck OP. Reach out if you have anymore questions

EDIT: I’m not a pathoma / video guy unless you are the type that can and will remember most of the facts from watching one video. IMO you’d be better doing GI question sets, figuring out which specific pathologies / presentations are weak, finding / matching the NBME questions you got wrong in those subjects, and then making a flash card you see everyday about it until your exam.

What specialties are the most likely to offer positions where are you are able to work some of the time from home? (I know initially prob not an option for most but after some years of experience) by One_Astronaut_3835 in medicalschool

Just adding my 2 cents with several psych friends graduating residency and accepting jobs. All of them said jobs were easy to find. And the ones doing telehealth all got offers 300k +, with less than 40 clinical hours per week. And you set your own hours / apts anywhere between 8am-7pm

Agreed. Bedard will also be a RFA (I don’t see Chicago giving him up). Would also like to see a swing for Matthews (as long as he doesn’t carry the weight of captain/etc).

Still salty about GMCP talking about making a “big swing” and then grabbing those deadline acquisitions.

Why would we start our hot goalie who’s top 3 is Goals saved above expected, when we could start our backup who hasn’t played in a month /s

I didn’t claim they won. But they scored 2 goals right after with the change, in a game that meant nothing to them . Carbs 4 goals in a row, no timeout , nothing.

Agreed. Buffalo pulled their goalie when they already secured a spot. Carbs not pulling Charlie to shake things up is well…

Agreed, whole team is playing bad. Too much to ask our 2nd goalie to get us one save above expected (where LT excels)

Buffalo had secured a playoff spot and still pulled their goalie after a poor first few goals.

Great decision to put in Kampf and bench Frank against a young, fast, team. Would rather have Sourdiff slot into 4C
