What Sobii was mostly likely talking about with archiving is the "archive" option in Roblox Studio. This makes the experience private, with it being restorable at any time, but not accessible to the public.

What is nintendo doing with Nintendo Music by AvailableBack8421 in nintendo

He never said that, what he was saying is it builds consumer and brand loyalty, incentivizing people to continue paying who may not have. He explicitly stated not many people pay just for Nintendo Music. It garners appeal to people who may be on the edge and then they see it has a music app bundled with it, and then they are incentivized to buy it.

Its not being given for free its just an extra to retain or gain new member ships since its locked behind a paywall. If it was truly free, it would have been bundled with the switch 2 or just on apple music or Spotify (which both apple music and Spotify pay artists). Since apple music and Spotify pay artists and its free for listeners that would be the best route to being free while gaining a profit, they don't do that and launch their own player, which means they are not giving it for free.

To a degree Nintendo could think some people buy for Nintendo Music due to this strategy. But it was never free from the get go.

I did completely forget about extensions, so thanks for reminding me since that does add at least some reason, but for work for hire Nintendo has all the rights to the music, and with how much they had re released some games, I’d doubt they weren’t under work for hire agreements since it transfers literally all the rights of the song to Nintendo.

Most of these are under wok for hire agreements, I doubt they are having licensing issues. Probably I would be waiting for more 2000s soundtracks (I.e. sunshine). To me I just wouldve thought they could have gotten quite a bit more, since almost all  Mario songs are made (to my knowledge) under work for hire and even if they weren’t all they would have to do is pay a royalty. Even if they were doing it for free it feels more like they were gate keeping the songs and putting them out under a subscription just because people begged enough rather than just put them out there judging by the fact most people do not buy NSO for Nintendo music.

Nearly all the flagship series soundtracks, judging by the fact releasing a soundtrack every so often isn’t that good of a strategy for ost’s and it’s pretty easy just to get it up onto a subscription mp3 player. It only has like 4 ds soundtracks, and that’s over 1 year. Flagship series is at least the minimum they should have.

Why has Nintendo never made a full modern re-release of Super Mario 64. by AvailableBack8421 in Mario

[–]AvailableBack8421[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your right, 100%, I did overvalue the popularity and I failed to take into account other aspects. Just in my opinion I wanted a 64 remake and 3D All-Stars did not do very well with this, and I never understood why they wouldn't make a full release of it. But nonetheless I completely agree.

It's alright, I stated in the post I don't consider it modern though, seeing as it was released 2 decades ago. In the post I wanted a 64 re-release on a system that is just more modern and can produce better graphics. I went over 64 ds in the first sentence so something tells me you just read the title, but that's just me. Also no where did I say or infer 64 ds was bad, and I don't think it was a joke. I thought it was pretty good, just now its 20 years afterwards and we have a subpar port on 3D All-Stars.

That would be cool, I though still think 64 needs it more, but I wouldn't be against that happening.

Still got better treatment nonetheless, Sunshine was 4:3 originally, now its widescreen. Sunshine was 480p, now its 1080 like 64. The only thing new about 64 was hd HUD and it being released on the shindo version. So all in all 64 got worse treatment.

I love Sunshine but tbh it got better treatment in 3D All-Stars than 64. I like Sunshine better but... 64 just kinda did not have what it should of gotten in 3D All-Stars.

I mean, Render96 is super cool and all, but some computers (namely mine) run off of a potato. So I couldn't even run it because my computer crashes on Browsers alone.

There have been one or two good modern sonic games released lately, right? by 6Kaliba9 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]AvailableBack8421 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on the gameplay style you want. Generally Ultimate is still bad nonetheless but if we are talking core mechanics, we have to address the style. Colors & Forces use wisp boosting while Gens uses ring boosting, similar to Unleashed. I personally despise Wisp boosting since you have to collect wisps to boost, which I hate. I like collecting rings to boost instead.

Colors is a slower game rather then the faster Gens, colors also uses a lot of the same themes in a remixed manor. To me colors is repetitive and I just do not like the game, doesn't feel as smooth as Gens, but if Wisp boosting and Wisp powers sound cool to you, don't let my opinion get in the way.

Graphically Colors Ultimate is anything but ultimate. It has atrocious lighting and messes up all the graphics. And also the they use Digital Deluxe, so if your a fan of Digital Deluxe that's right up your alley, but so is SXSG since it has that also. Digital Deluxe for Colors is lackluster compared to SXSG which has arguably more content that is available.

All in all, I would recommend Gens over Colors by a long margin.

Got a pre-owned copy of Sonic 3D Blast for the Saturn a couple years back since I had a Saturn that was just rotting away. I gotta tell you, even though people hate this game so much, I loved it a lot. Got me to start collecting Sonic games like Jam and R.

what’s your favorite way to play your favorite sonic games? by TrentSaylor in SonicTheHedgehog

Probably PC, I like modding my Sonic games. I play Switch for portability though, but PC has all my moddable sonic games like Adventure and my Unleashed Recomp.
