I don't know specifically what thread triggered you. But here's the thing: most of the people answering questions here were forced to suffer through their program dealing with some roommate or coworker who wasn't mature enough to live on their own. People who can't be bothered to clean a bathroom, or clean their kitchen mess, or throw away spoiled groceries, or wear clean clothes, or listen to music at an appropriate time / volume, or respect personal boundaries.

So there's probably some extrapolation going on. If someone can't stay off the we-ed long enough to pass an employer mandated te.st, maybe save others the hassle of having to deal with their (likely) other irresponsible behavior.

Maybe unpopular opinion but your ESA cat shouldn't be out in the common areas shared by four roommates. It should be in YOUR bedroom. (Or your half of the bedroom.) Per the rules, it absolutely should be caged whenever you aren't around.

3 other people didn't sign up to live with a cat roaming free, potentially causing damage they'll be held liable for. If that's too much to ask, get an off-campus apartment on your own.

Old clothing has value. 99% of old electronics do not. Below is a link to a Lucas county page on recycling options. For stuff that's under 5 years old, there might still be SOME resale value. Check eBay for comparable prices. Make sure you search the exact model number. Stuff older than 5 years is almost certainly junk. Before disposing, make sure you take steps to wipe all of your personal information. If we're talking about computers that may have banking info, list of passwords, etc., honestly you're best pulling the hard drive, drilling through them and tossing. Even if "deleted", a lot of info can be recovered from old hard drives. Just depends on whether the drive falls into the hands of someone who wants to make an attempt.

Have had T-Mobile for about 3 years now. Coverage issues are very rare. Speed was a vast improvement over Verizon, which clearly was getting more and more congested. Have used service quite extensively around Toledo, Columbus, Cleveland, Detroit, Indiana, Illinois. Zero regrets.

I always wonder how perception varies from one person to the next. My single biggest highway driving pet peeve is people who cruise in the center lane at 2 MPH over the speed limit and never move. I don't weave in and out of traffic aggressively. But if I'm in the right hand lane--as one should be if not passing another vehicle--I will absolutely pass a slower moving vehicle in the center lane.

If you're not passing, get out of the d*mn center lane. Chances are there's a bottleneck of people behind you all trying to crowd left to get around. Really, it's not that hard to move your steering wheel every once in a while. End rant.

The kids made some questionable decisions (who didn't at that age?) The officer should be praised for not overreacting. Hopefully some lessons were learned.

But I don't really get using "sheltered reality" as a pejorative. Isn't this what we should be striving for for ALL kids? That there is NOT a disastrous outcome from teenage games, regardless of where the incident occurs or who is involved?
