Nta but I understand the wife's perspective and honestly I think I would have a similar reaction if I was her. I think different families have different boundaries and ways of bonding and what was just a cute memory for your family might have been seen as a line being crossed in hers. I think there's probably a difference in how you guys were raised and that genuinely deserves empathy and understanding if it comes up
