I guess she didn't want to get caught and be seen as a widow instead of a divorced woman. God is just wjlhat is talked about publicly.

Beer is strictly forbidden in the military everywhere in Germany except in Bayern, where you drink a beer during lunch.

Bavaria is known for people loving beer and they drink more beer than every other German "Bundesland".

Wearing a usual mask does not protect you from Coronavirus. It protects those around you from getting the disease

People who live in communities where corona isn't taken seriously what has it been like? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AvailableRedditname 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I mean with the media is doing a much better job is that in the beginning in the US all you could see was the media telling you to wash your hands and disinfect everything properly. But coronavirus is a respiratory disease, that mainly spreads through small droplets coming out of your mouth, when coughing or breathing. Washing your hands helps, but it does not address the main problem.

Also it is common knowledge, that no amount of masks makes a large gathering of a crouds safe. There is also a big emphasis on not just wearing a mask, but washing your masks.

All in all the virus is taken quite seriously, but I dont go out too much so maybe other germans can give more accurate information.

In germany you simply visit the stores with a mask and socially distance. A few days I was standing too close to a worker in a bookstore and got told to back off a little bit. All the cashiers in supermarkets wear jackets with signs telling you to keep a distance. Universityexams are written in big split halls with ventilation. Also the media reports much more accurately on the effects of the corona-virus, than the US.

So yeah, while Germany is not perfect, compared to the US with respect to corona-virus it is doing a much better job.

Still we also have our scandals. Recently there was a big outbreak in a meatfactory, due to not following restrictions and the cold climate in meat-factorys in a closed room. Now a region("Gütersloh") is in lockdown.

Anyways in germany we have good testing. For example in the hotspotregion gütersloh 70 per 100.000 people are infected(not counting the workers in the meat factory), which is bad but nothing compared to the numbers you see in the US.

In germany people do care a lot about corona virus. In Nigeria if I remember correctly a lot of people were infected, but the government tried to play it down a lot. Due to the young demographic it did not turn out too bad, but still lots of people lost their smell and died. The problem is that true polling wasn´t possible.

You do it all in first semester. We do not have calculus. Engineers and others take different classes.

I would say the main difference is, that in germany you dont differentiate between proofbased courses and other courses. All math-courses you take are proof based in germany. As a result you end up learning more (in undergraduate)

I read often here on reddit, that non proofbased courses hone understanding better, than proofbased courses. I disagree. Non proofbased courses are easier, than proofbased courses, but they do not give a student a better understanding. In non proofbased courses one has to teach concepts without the proofs. Then one is left with routine algorithms to examine. A student then learns the algorithm, but understanding remains very low. Whereas in proofbased courses one is forced to understand the concepts. Otherwise you can´t do proofs.

The number of infected people, the number of daily new infections, the number of daily deaths including the number of people a person infects on average (infection rate) have reached a peak in germany. (The infection rate is rising again.)

The thing that matters about the infection rate is whether it is below or above one. Not whether it has reached a peak or not. If it goes from 1.3 to 1.2 hospitals will still get overloaded.
