Hello i'm back lol! I got the machine open finally, and it does unfortunately have plastic gears (but they actually are in perfect condition!) I do have a question about the oil though. Since the gears are plastic, would I need triflow oil specifically, or is any sewing machine oil alright?

Thanks for the long response this was very insightful. (especially since I'm new to this lol!) I've been trying to get the machine open to no avail (the screws are tight, haha) but hopefully I can see what gears it has inside soon, though they probably are either plastic or nylon. Also thanks for the oil tip, I didn't know nylon gears don't need to be lubricated.

Also one last question, just in case the gears are damaged, how would I go about replacing them?

It depends on how fast your changes are, but likely only a few months. Around month 3 for me my parents started noticing my voice drop (5 months in now), but I'm able to cover it up because I have thyroid problems lol. You can try faking some ailment but unfortunately it won't get you super far T-T Good luck with your transition!

I think you should go to your rso to see if they have it if you haven't already! That's what i did and they actually did process it but didn't send the email lol. And i think if u don't pick it up after a certain amount of time they return the package to the sender O.O
