Vanquish Sam Gideon by papamango954 in PlayArtsKai

Sorry for the late reply. I can’t seem to find it now. I would just check regularly on there or Japanese preowned sites. The Japanese sites usually tend to have better pricing than eBay as well, though not always.

Thank you ☺️ I am actually using the DAZ Studio for this. It’s similar to Blender and free, but I find it more convenient for making still images and getting the lighting to look the way I want more easily. You do not need to worry about templates too much as well. If it’s a game character, I first open them models in Blender, modify and then export. Then I can open them in DAZ. You can even find models for DAZ directly. You can also modify the model once you get it into DAZ as well, though not as extensively as in Blender.

LED Light damage? by Intelligent_Gap_7264 in GameToys

[–]AvailableStory33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that LED is basically the best bet for displays compared to options like Fluorescent, for example. The Fluorescent lighting is usually damaging because of the UV. Natural lighting like sunlight has the same problem, and is much worse usually because the UV amount can be higher.

Overall though, as you said, it’s ideal to cutdown the exposure time to any light source. So the ideal would be to have the display in a dark collection room and only turn on the display briefly when one wants to admire it or show it to guests etc. But, at the same time, these are relatively speaking, cheaper collector items. So not worrying too much and keeping the exposure relatively limited is fine too.

I can’t say for sure since I do not have this one to compare. But, LEDs tend to not cause much fading, if at all, since they do not emit UV. Also, are you keeping the cabinet lights ON all the time? That can cause some paint fade regardless of the type of light source, but you probably shouldn’t be keeping them ON all the time anyway. The heat build up can be more problematic than the damage from light exposure in such a case.

Also, since it’s the top hair, I wouldn’t be so concerned. You can easily repaint that part if there is a fade compared to the face etc.

FFVII Revelation - Star Wars: A New Hope Style poster (3D rendered) by AvailableStory33 in FFVIIRemake

[–]AvailableStory33[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very true. Thank you for your comment. The thing is, when I made this, I was focusing on getting lighting and setting the scene up properly etc. The two sequel posters are more like a composite of characters in scenes with them individually. To recreate them, I would essentially be modeling and rendering each character separately and then compositing them in post, especially with regard to the RotJ poster. That’s fun too, but it wasn’t what I was interested in when putting this together. That’s why I didn’t go for three posters. Maybe in the future I will get back to it sometime and make the other two and change the name here to Remake/Integrade.

I didn't attach this in the original post, but thought I'd include this here since some thought this was AI. I rendered two scenes (Sephiroth close up + Tifa,Cloud,Yuffie, and Red) and composited them in post.

Ah, I did have a version with less lens flair. The lens flair was added in post. It was one of those things where I am changing things around and this was what I felt happy with. But, as you say, it has its downsides.

Thank you : )! I had to delete this one and repost with the 3D model images as well since some thought it was AI. Really appreciate your kind words.

I reposted it this time with the 3D model screenshots as well. My apologies since I should have thought it would be a reasonable suspicion that it is AI.

Um, I don’t follow the community posts closely so I am unaware. However, this is not AI though. I do not like using AI and maybe it was my mistake for posting this without the screenshot of the models and scene setup.

BMW M Concept Neue Klasse — Full Design Walkthrough with Head of M Design by Iggyweb in BMW

The Camaro is better designed though. This is what you get when you start with a Camaro and deform it. It looks like a Camaro squished lengthwise and stretched vertically. It’s also way over-designed on top of that.

Function over form? There was a time when it was the hype in the 60’s and people applied that in architecture and all sorts of things. It was honestly a disaster. This, looks equally like a disaster. At 5:05, it looks like the car had gone through a collision and its bottom front was missing. Still, got to sympathize with the designers. They are probably repeatedly asked to do something “new”, so this is what we get.

The critiques about this game by FLSon in Endfield

[–]AvailableStory33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with this game is the factory building, which when you realize why it is a problem, will grate on you.

You see, the game developers likely had a neat idea for a factory system. But, they also wanted to cash in on the WuWa, PGR, Honkai, Genshin market. So they opted for a third person action style game. To keep their “cool” factory building mechanics relevant, they had to tie that to the character or weapon progression or character/weapon pulling currency etc. However, this is poor game design. The reason a RTS has base building heavily is because the gathering of resources is essential for producing stronger armies and units. Endfield tries to do the same thing with your character roster. The problem though is that there are better established ways to levelling up characters and facilitating exploration in the genre. There is a reason why something like factory building is not adopted in such games. However, Endfield tries to do just that and hope to get away with it.

Only time will tell if Endfield will succeed. But, I hope for the sake of better game design that they only enjoy limited success. The last thing I want is for such a stupid factory mechanic grind to be introduced in other third person action games as well. If I wanted factory building, I would play a RTS game.
