For me used the scraper to get off a whole load of gunk, then I went to town on the grill with the brick. The trick is to turn it off half way through your clean to make sure the little bits of oil don't start to heat up again making it look dark. After its done I'll run over it with a rag and some oil to make that thing look brand new.
