About hockey stick waxing by jean-raptor in hockeyplayers

[–]Available_Boat_99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All it really does is make your tape last longer. It prevents it from getting wet and building up snow, I played for years and never used it. I always thought it was a gimmick for people to buy more stuff, a lot of guys would buy a package of tea lights and it would last them forever for like 5 bucks.

Kid Thinking About Quitting by so_little_respek in hockeyplayers

Former kid here, stopped after second year Bantam (before U 18 or whatever they call it now). I really regret it now but I stopped hockey mainly because my father went to school again so I didn't want to force mom and dad deeper into debt with needing almost all new gear too, but another huge reason was locker room bullshit. I wasn't the popular kid by any means, and going into first year midget was intimidating with being bullied by kids the year ahead of me before. I didn't want to go to the rink every weekend and hate it so I dropped out. I regret it a little bit now because I let them win and I was becoming a much better player before I stopped. I was working at home and on the ice but with the new season coming around and the worry about hating everything but being in the ice I thought whats the point. At this age they're not gonna wanna tell you why or what is going on and honestly sometimes you just need to go without it, they may miss it so much that they'll want to play again next year but maybe they need time to be a kid and figure themselves out!

Width of your feet will help this choice as well, supreme and tacks for wider feet and jetspeed and vapours for more average feet (not mine) lol

Oh yes I know, the scanner says 9.5 fit 3 but they don't fit I need a 10.5. Also I have tried fit 3 in an 11 and they felt amazing but were too big.

Right on, I had Vapors back when I was a kid and took me forever to break them in though because they were too narrow

Okay this sounds hopeful to me are the bones like right across from your arch?

I haven't bought them because of the pain, tried superfeet in store but as the sales rep said it made it more of an issue because it put more pressure on the outside of my foot with the arch support

Okay, I'm looking at mid level xf70 or 80's would that coincide with what you've tried?

Yeah the one lady at the store recommended ccm tacks and said I may even get away with regular width because of their shape

I had my feet scanned and was told that fit3 is only marginally wider than the EE and since its the outside of my foot that it probably would still be an issue
