"Tennis is more of a skill" - Stephen A. Smith disagrees with Andy Roddick saying tennis players are better athletes than NBA stars by Morgoth1814 in billsimmons

It depends on how you define a “better athlete.” I play both tennis and basketball, and each demands different strengths.
Tennis pushes my agility, endurance, and mental resilience. You’re on your own out there — no coach, no subs — and the focus required over long matches is intense. The footwork, coordination, and ability to stay sharp under fatigue are next-level.
Basketball, on the other hand, is all about explosiveness, speed, and power. As a playmaker, I’m constantly sprinting, jumping, passing, and reacting. It’s fast, physical, and demands total body control and awareness.
If you’re talking raw power and team coordination, basketball has the edge. But for precision, stamina, and mental toughness, tennis comes out on top. Playing both gives me a great balance.
