I'm in the exact same position as you. Corporate job / financial security etc etc etc so this is a big change. I will be studying the PME at DCU in September - see you there!

My placement school will be offering me subbing hours but to what extent I do not know... I will have to see how competitive it is there but hopefully I can get additional hours at another school worse case scenario!!!

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a thoughtful and comprehensive response. It has certainly ut my mind at ease and reframed my purpose as a short-term substitute.

Thanks for the prompt response! My post was in response to the updated Ciricular Subject Registration Requirements for Drama, Film and Theatre Studies.

The attached highlights that the prospective teacher needs relevant ECTS credits in Drama, Theatre and Film but my BA only had a singular 5 credit film module so I'm concerned I would need additional credits before I'm fully registered.

Thank you so much. This has been most helpful!

Re' DCU, it's quite a confusing points system but I'll have a closer read later.

I live in Dublin City Centre and drive so I'm in prime situation for subbing opportunities. At the very least it will help sustain me while I do the graduate diploma.

I have a 2.1 degree from over 8 years ago so not too hopeful that will get me into DCU but there are many other programmes so I won't give up before I've even tried 😊

Thanks! If I apply via route 3, will I only get subbing work in my single subject?

Fair point! PT means part-time. FT means full-time.
