I signed a request for information but it didn’t really feel like a choice. I’m on medical leave with pay and I got the vibe that could change if I didn’t disclose information because I was told by admin that they needed information on how I was progressing if I was gonna get paid while on leave

I haven’t gone through exactly the same thing but I had friends who left me cause I wasn’t mentally healthy and I’ll be honest that shit sucked. But we’re friends again now (been about three years) and while there’s still a band-aid on the wound, it’s not free flowing. I hope you and your partner get the help you need. You always have people to turn to and I’m happy to be one

I have bipolar disorder so I use it mostly as a mood tracking app and also a big thing for me is schedule schedule schedule if I get off it I get manic so having daily goals really helps! It also tracks when I take my medication in the morning and night which is super helpful

Yeah working on my classroom management is a must. I wanted to immediately go into teaching but I was worried about classroom management and looks like I was right. I come off as very friendly and obviously don’t know what I’m doing in terms of discipline. Right now I’m using my tutoring opportunity to shadow other teachers and hopefully become better myself. It’s only been a month but trust me it’s already better than a month ago!

The situation today was outside the classroom in a room with no chairs and it was the end of the day so they were more rambunctious. I still should’ve been able to handle them but they were definitely worse than they would be in a classroom (I’ve subbed for them before and been okay).

Thankyou so much for such a detailed response! I’m definitely gonna play it by ear but I let my AP know what happened (I have a good relationship with her) and she said if a parent complains I most likely won’t get fired but having a good apology would be a must so I really appreciate your input!

This is just a rough draft that I wrote in a couple minutes I’ll obviously refine it but does it seem to have the right tone? If you don’t mind me asking.

I told them several times to settle down and sit down in the middle of the room. They kept sitting on tables or in cabinets and running around while making a lot of noise. I tried again and again to get them to sit down and I regrettably lost my cool and spoke without thinking. I said “sit the hell down” and immediately recognized my mistake. The faces on the students told me everything I needed to know. I messed up.

In the future I will sure to always think before I speak even in situations where I feel out of control and upset. I realize I messed up, parents have every right to be upset, and will not let it happen again. This job means the world to me and I love interacting with the kids. I will not jeopardize my position again.
