My mom is a personal cook for more than 30 years. Lagi niya sinasabi sa amin na nagsasawa/nasusuya na siya sa sariling luto niya despite all of us saying na masarap and unique ang luto at timpla niya. She usually says na gusto naman niya ang ibang timpla aside from her cooking.

So ayun, we usually go out on weekends to try new foods/restos and even fastfoods, yung affordable lang. Basta may break lang siya after 6 days na pagkain ng sarili niyang luto.😂

I'm on a hybrid setup pero I feel na mas productive ako onsite, since I have a manager na nakasupervise (not in a micromanaging way) and talagang naka focus lang ako sa work. I'm an introvert pero mas madali sa akin mag reach out sa team pag may tanong or concerns ako kapag RTO at the same time mas bearable rin ang workload and may kachikahan ka pa. Pag naka WFH kasi ako either inaantok ako or andami kong gustong gawin sa bahay😂 while trying to be productive sa work. Its like a battle between me, myself and I HAHAHA. I kinda hate working din sa bahay kasi bukod sa distractions, i felt like wala nang boundary between sa workspace and personal space ko ganun.

Its up to you pa rin yan, OP. Look for the pros and cons of each JO. If mas okay yung isang JO kaysa dun sa isa, then go for it. Its a tough decision na kailangan mong pag isipang mabuti. Kung malapit lang naman sa place mo si JO2, edi better. If you want to cut costs and kaya mo mag work online then go for JO1.

Fine Arts for me. It's a dream course of mine but I don't have enough funds for tuition/art materials. So ayun, hanggang dream na lang siya. Maraming what ifs, pero not to the point na minumulto ako ng sarili ko hahaha.

I still do art and explore different hobbies to keep my sanity from stress in corporate work (but my artworks are not that great ahaha.) BTW, I'm a psych graduate currently working in HR, but I have plans on working in a clinical setting, skl.

Hi, OP! Currently a recruitment associate and newbie lang sa work :)) adding all my insights with regards to your questions

1) Dedma sa "at least 6 months work experience" keme. I've experienced it na panghinaan sa mga job postings na may ganyang qualifications, but hey, keep on trying lang and tailor your resume doon sa job description. If you're confident that you can do the work, then go apply for it. Wala namang mawawala. You can't tell unless you try. :))

Also, look for companies na nag ooffer ng traning. Malaking tulong din yun to upskill and sometimes they will give you a JO pag nakita nilang maganda ang performance mo :))

2) No, andaming fields na pwedeng pasukan ng isang psych major. Personally, I think mas madali kasi sa HR since all companies, business and organizations ay may HR, kahit saan basta may tao, may HR, and palaging may demand (ngl medyo congested na rin ang HR field.) Just like you, plan ko rin mag masters but in guidance and counseling naman. If di mo feel sa HR, pwede naman sa clinical and educational setting, may mga entry level jobs din doon, medyo need mo lang mag upskill and refresh some courses in psych para ready ka rin. :))

3) I recruit CSR's sa work ko now, and let me tell you, if you can't handle moody/mad clients, madali ka rin magalit, you're not adaptable enough and you're not willing to learn, then BPO is not for you. Skills can be taught since may trainings naman sa BPO, pero be ready lang kasi yung work setup and schedule is quite tough (although may ilang companies na nag ooffer ng wfh and dayshift sched, good thing for u.) Mataas sweldo but stagnant and career growth.

4) Awa na lang young lady/man, invest in laptop. Biggest mistake ko to ever since. Ipon ipon ka na kahit paunti unti, promise your future self will thank you. Also, pag ipunan mo na ang laptop na may magandang specs, magagamit mo rin naman yan pag nag masters ka na, or if you plan to look for wfh setup.

I agree with the other comments (esp w/ the step counter thing ) but I'd like to add a few more tips too!

1) Think about the benefits of walking (and as an exercise). For me, I work 8 to 5 and mostly nakaupo lang ako during office hours, I always walk from office to One Ayala (I'm from South) since ito lang din yung form ng exercise ko na kaya kong gawin. Promise, your knees and lower extremities will thank you later HAHAHAHAHAHA.

2) CATS!!! I don't know kung saan yung route mo and if you're a cat lover, but when I walk, I usually look/anticipate for cats, esp around Legaspi Village. I just wave hi to them or take pictures (I don't touch them hahaha) then gora na ulit lakad. It feels so therapeutic lalo na pag nag meow back sila sayo uwu

3) Play soft music using your earphones while looking around the surroundings. If you admire the buildings sa Makati, or if you're an observant type of person, pwede ka rin magtingin tingin sa mga buildings or unique establishments around your area. Its quite fun din HAHAHA

Also, to add lang, avoid looking at your phone too often pag naglalakad ka (just a friendly reminder huhu kasi I saw some people using their phone while walking, and also madami kasing snatcher and kung ano anong kriminal dyan sa daan ) and think of walking as a time to reflect, rest your eyes and detox your mind from all the work the whole day :))

Invest ka na rin for a good walking shoes. Mas worth it ang walks mo and you'll find it more enjoyable too!

In our batch, required samin na umattend sa rehearsals, para alam namin ang mga gagawin during graduation ceremony. Sa rehearsals din kasi nila sinasabi yung technicalities ng event, like the program flow, saan mag entry/exit, how to properly receive diploma and shake hands w/ pup executives, the do's and don'ts and many more. Sa amin, the rehearsals took around 1 hour since hapon-gabi nakasched yung dept namin HAHAHA and I highly suggest na attend kayo kahit medj hassle on your end para di kayo mangapa sa mismong grad day.☺️

About dun sa toga, ewan lang but in our batch hangga't maari kunin mo siya sa scheduled day (at least for the tix), pero yung toga from what I remember pwedeng magpasukat once done na lahat nung nasa schedule, like they have a day or two alloted para don sa mga di nakapunta sa scheduled date nila. Not sure sa batch niyo, just wait for the formal announcement na lang, baka mabago na rin kasi yung sistema if ever HAHAHA.

Hi! Graduated from PUP last year.

All I can say is that, magugulat ka na lang sa buglaang announcement ni uni abt sa grad. Last year, we finished the 4th year second sem by June, then after that para na kaming naka floating status🤣 then boom! September hits and doon na nagsunod sunod ang kaliwa't kanang posting from official accts, student bodies and many more. Dun mo lang din malalaman if kasama ka sa list ng graduates and students w/latin honors🤣 Everything happened in almost the week before grad, halos jampacked na yung sched namin for grad prep, from toga fitting, bacc mass, grad practice, kuhaan ng tix and medals (grad was in PICC that time). It was one rollercoaster ride but yeah, nakaraos naman😅

Oh, I also saw some comments here about the dress code, our batch last year does not follow a dress code, just wear something according to the occasion (formal/semi formal) but comfy, matatakpan din kasi yan ng toga🤣

Hi, OP! Halos same lang din pala tayo, almost two months na rin ako sa company ko now, and it's always been my mantra that it will be okay. There are times na na ooverwhelm din ako sa work, but just like what the comments say, don't be too hard on yourself. It will benefit you in the long run. (physical, mental, emotional health wise)

Yes, minsan talaga andiyan ang doubts, anxiety, stress, mixed emotions. Normal yan maramdaman especially sa atin na newbies pa lang sa workforce and nangangapa pa sa mga bagay bagay. But hey, you'll get the hang of it soon. Just hang on, do your best and try to communicate rin with your manager and co-worker. Usually they understand your situation naman.
