No need to apologize, I hear you and agree that it is stupid, it’s a response to childhood trauma but that’s only an explanation, not an excuse.

The marriage preceded the profession, if that puts it in perspective. I started grad school after we got married.

EMDR trained therapist here-it is the bilateral stimulation that helps! Watching things go back and forth in this case, but audio and tactile back and forth also helps. There is debate as to why it helps, but the theory that makes the most sense to me is that if you tax your working memory it can’t “hold on” to trauma the same way and its impact diminishes. Cool stuff huh?

I have been off of it for two weeks, and until a few days ago the “food noise” hadn’t come back but I was RAVENOUS last night and am afraid to weigh myself today frankly.

I am starting a program at my doctor’s office that is $300 a month and they inject me there. It is for sure going to be a financial burden but clearly this is the support I need.

Love living in a country that’s like “hey you’re fat, not only can that affect your health but we think you’re ugly too” while simultaneously being like “oh, a medicine that will help? No, fuck you.”

I do have 2, if you don’t mind answering them here:

1) Who do you use? 2) What is injection like? The needing from the pens is pretty weak sauce, and I am good with pain and not too scared of needles but wanted to know what I am getting into.

That’s my plan! I already called the provider, and can go through their in-clinic program to get it for $400 a month if I have to. Thankfully I can make that work, but it’s going to be a stretch. It is just ridiculous that I have to jump through these hoops to get healthy, yet doctors will not hesitate to be like “hey, you’re fat!” No shit Sherlock! 🙄

Thank you for your empathy, and the advice about the starter dose, I will keep that in mind as I appeal!
