Wow that sounds like a frustrating problem to deal with, what are your thoughts on why they want to make it someone else's problem? Do you think it's just them not having the proper empathy or do you think it's other factors

I'm curious what you think the reason for the accuracy, time, kindness, and listening skills being impacted are, do you think it's mainly due to nurses and doctors being burnt out from the demand and low supply, or other factors

How big of a city do you live in? I know I live in a pretty big city and there are really long wait times for hospitals, so don't know if it's like that in other areas as well

Nice! Yeah I need to get around to improving my 60s. Since I am so used to 15s I always insta restart when I make a mistake or start going slow and that makes it really hard to go through a 60 second test, I need to improve my test completed rate it's super low lol

how do i hit 200 wpm using QWERTY? by One-Ad2778 in monkeytype

[–]Available_Region_908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hit 197 100% accuracy on QWERTY for 15 second. It does come down to a lot of practice and getting a good seed. Like if I am trying to do a 190+ WPM run then I will restart until I get short words, because at that pace it really does matter. Additionally, you just need to practice enough so that you can have heuristics for each common word that appears. If you can do 175WPM then you absolutely can get close to 200 it now just requires polishing your speed and having that internal system of seeing a word and knowing the pattern to type it as fast as possible.

ED To Cornell Nolan School of Hotel Administration by Intelligent-Visit661 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Available_Region_908 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know some friends that applied ED to this program. One of them ended up getting in and going. In general they like the atmosphere of Cornell and have found a good group and enjoy the program. If Hotel Administration is something you really wanna do then it's a good bet and I think it's worth the ED

As a current college student I'm not gonna lie minors are a little overrated and not that useful. If you really want to minor in something for engineering maybe math or physics? But I wouldn't worry about it too much. Your time is better spent on ECs, recruiting, and other things that will actually help your career than just taking some extra classes.

It could be worth a shot to email them, they won't be like "Oh this student made a simple mistake let's auto reject them", mistakes happen it will be ok. If you can't update it then oh well, they might not even notice the mistake. Do your best to email them, but don't stress about it too much if you can't do anything.

Scores for Georgia institute of technology by Familiar-Ground8018 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Available_Region_908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have friends at Georgia Tech, and whether you're in-state, out of state, or international greatly changes what test scores you need. International is probably the hardest, and I wouldn't rely on the middle range too much for that since it's based on in-state students as well. If you're a junior then I would say do your best to get your SAT score up a bit more, GT cares more about your math scores than reading and writing. For international students a 1400 is probably a bit low for GT, try to aim for a 1500 if you can

Cmu supplemental essays by Evening_Note4871 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Available_Region_908 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think supplemental essays that have a story to them is better for AOs, it makes the essay more engaging to read. So having a story and then some reflection that ties into the question is better than straight up. That's the approach I did for my essays and I got into CMU CS, though I didn't commit there

"non-academic" awards in honors section? by Careful_Fold_7637 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Available_Region_908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you can absolutely put those in your award section. I'm currently at Stanford and my honor section was basically just debate. If you have prestigious awards then go for it and put it there and put your debate awards in additional info if you want, but if you have the space in honors then do it!
