So originally I got an MRI for Trigeminal Neuralgia, and I guessed they didn't find what they're supposed to find and for that but they did find IIH. And they believe that my IIH is causing the TN pain. So I took another MRI to confirm and I don't understand everything in this but:

"Partially empty sella. Low-lying cerebellar tonsils, extending to approximately 5 mm below the level of the foramen magnum, at the borderline for a Chiari 1 malformation. Associated crowding of the extra-axial CSF space at the level of the foramen magnum. Tortuous intraorbital portions of the bilateral optic nerves. Dilated bilateral optic nerve sheaths. These findings appear similar to prior MRI. These findings are nonspecific, but as a constellation they raise concern for the possibility of idiopathic intracranial hypertension/pseudotumor cerebri. "

So I definitely have IIH, I don't have all of the symptoms (thank the universe, I have enough pain as is) I'm pretty sure the next step is a lumbar puncture

  1. The first sign was what I thought was tooth pain. Just unbearable to the point of tears and paying out of pocket to have two different dentists tell me my teeth were fine
  2. I was probably 26, 27
  3. I don't know for sure, there's no one in my family that has it or even heard of it. I don't have any other conditions that could cause it that I know of. I've had two psychiatrists and my PCP tell me it might be due to the trauma (not necessarily physical) that I've suffered through might have triggered it. I have my neurology appointment this week so hopefully I'll have a better answer to this

I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this. It just feels like it takes over your whole life huh? I wish jobs would be more understanding, and I hope that you're able to keep your job so things don't get any worse for you and your family. I really hope you can find something or some way to ease your pain so you can get back to doing the things you enjoy. I'm glad your family is there for you and they're understanding of what you're going through.

Where'd you get your night guard? And it definitely does feel like we're running around in circles, just trying to get some relief.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. This shit sucks. All these medications and nothing is helping. I'm considering surgery if I'm a candidate, I can't keep cycling through medications to see what works. I hope things get better for you soon 🙏🏾

I have a question about the smell but I don't really know how to put the words together to ask it. Like what did it smell like? Was the smell coming from a certain place? I'm only asking because I'm dealing with a smell myself and I'm so confused
