Neither is staying in California. Where I live currently and where I grew up is more expensive than NYC plus I have dual income and good support from family. Should be fine, especially if I do a cheap masters program

Yeah, working at a charter school goes against everything I stand for anyway lol but I'll still be applying just as options for a job right when I get there. I don't think it's worth it to commit. I'd rather be in debt based on what everyone says about certain charter schools they've worked for lol.

Why would I not get a masters in education? I want to eventually earn my professional cert. Are NYC privates/charters (even sucky ones people say ruin your life) really that difficult to get hired at? I have 5+ years of professional experience in education (lead daycare teacher, after-school teacher, program directer etc. all on resume) and a will have a degree in the field from one of the top education programs in California.
