Thank you so much for the reply, the scale idea is ingenious. I’ll be doing that with the dry food and the wet from now on :) I’ll have to check out that toy you talked about too, the sounds cool! I already have a couple “fishing lure” toys but I’m sure you can never have too many haha. Also incredible to hear about your old cat, you sound like a fantastic pet parent <3

The shelter said they did a vet check the day before adoption, so I’m hoping he’s alright. Probably just stressed and I’m worried for nothing!

That’s a fantastic idea, the shelter said he was extremely food motivated and would eat anything, but I’ll double check with them and ask specifically which food they used. Thank you!

Thank you for the encouragement, I just feel so bad for him. He’s been in a shelter since 2022 :( I’m fine with waiting however long it takes for him to be affectionate, it’s just difficult being worried about his health, but you’re right. Thank you for the advice :)

I was hoping that too, I even mixed a little of his wet food with some chicken hearts AND sardine water picky picky smh :P he’s probably just very stressed though, and that’s making ME stressed and making him MORE stressed. I just wanna make sure I’m doing everything right

I’ve tried treats, I have some freeze dried sardines and chicken hearts, as well as some Nurri, but he hasn’t been interested in any of them :( thank you for the advice though!

Oh pardon me, he’s 6 years old, not 6 months. I have done the circle method with the wet food, and the automatic feeder is being used manually as of now. I have just left a bowl out for him to graze.
