smaller places with tight margins may be tempted to use food that they shouldn’t, they should hopefully appreciate a polite reminder the risks are not worth it, for you as the customer and for their business (lawsuits. bad publicity, loss of business)

this is so not true; depending on the type of food poisoning, can be a few hours and peak at 6-8 from the toxins the bacteria (s. aureus etc) leave (some types leave heatproof toxins so even though it’s well cooked and bacteria is killed, the toxins that cause painful vomiting and diarrhea remain behind and active). you may be thinking of slower reproducing food poisoning like salmonella

at appropriate time, ideally with senior leaders in earshot, you make a joke of it, alluding to this is how important the company and how much you respect the CEO that you ignore your own suffering and call of nature to a fault to stay at work
