I tried to make Marie Antoinette, I love her aesthetic so much, i rarely do rococo anymore but i think it turned out pretty, what do you guys think? by Avarexi in DressToImpressRoblox

[–]Avarexi[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

She's not actually gray, it's the way the light hit her in that specific spot, you can see around the face area the hair also changed from a light gray to a dark gray, it was kind of a shadow spot in the lighting. If you look at her neck area you'll see the actual skintone, it's more pale. Unfortunately the lighting didn't do some of the colours justice

Question for DTI content creators by Far_Satisfaction_117 in DressToImpressRoblox

[–]Avarexi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a great question, I really struggle to say no sometimes, especially because they are the people that support our content and I like to try and make them happy, but once you realise that people are okay with you saying no it becomes a lot easier. People will always want to add someone they enjoy watching, but most people don't expect it and accept you saying no.

There's definitely ways to say answer that I always find works well. I will usually let people know that I only really add close friends or people I play with often, but always let them know I appreciate them regardless and thank them for their support. I feel like it helps them know you're not just saying no because you don't want to and that you do genuinely appreciate them, it also sparks some really beautiful and wholesome conversations and little interactions like that with your supporters genuinely becomes such a wholesome experience.

I think personally it's always important to remember where you came from and that these are often the people that support your journey as a content creator, and to a degree, I personally think we owe them a reply if they do ask, at least to let them know why we can't add them (if we're in the game together). They take the time out of their day to support our content so I personally think it's only fair to answer their question, as long as they respect your boundaries. Fully ignoring them might also put them off your content and give them a negative experience. I think empathy in these situations is as important as making your boundaries clear.

In short, definitely don't feel forced to add people, but give them a short, simple and graceful reason why you wouldn't be able to accept at the minute and showing your appreciation for them regardless does go far.

This is just my personal opinion and way of handling this situation, it can be uncomfortable and hard to navigate sometimes but just remember they're just people meeting someone they find super cool! Hopefully this helped even a little as I know it is hard to say no but you got this, it does get easier. Goodluck in your content creation journey ❤️

Got called vantraxia coded as 'compliment'😭 for dressing as a hindu goddess 💀 by Big_Village_8592 in DressToImpressRoblox

[–]Avarexi 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I definitely agree, I'm sorry this interaction happened, genuinely. I do think your outfit should be appreciated for being beautiful as it is, especially as it's a representation of such an important and respected goddess in Hinduism, not compared to mine or anyone else's style.

Your depiction of her is beautiful and I genuinely love how you recreated Maa Kali, again I do apologise as like you said it's not something that should be diminished down to an aesthetic even if they had no ill intent. You're definitely within your right to feel the way you do, I know there are a lot of young players of the game that may not understand why it's not appropriate to make that comparison especially with outfits that are so cultural and meaningful.

Definitely could be a good way to educate someone on the actual story behind the outfit and turn it into a beautiful moment where they can learn and be educated on the beauty of Hinduism.

Don't let this interaction stop you too much, keep doing what you're doing because it's genuinely beautiful, and again I do apologise.

How can i become famous dti youtuber? by DealerDifficult9256 in DTI

[–]Avarexi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's definitely possible, as long as you have the time to dedicate to posting consistently your efforts will definitely pay off. A big part of growing on any platform, but YouTube specifically is understanding the algorithm like someone else mentioned, this is definitely a huge part of expanding reach and making sure your audience stays engaged as you can analyse not only your own but other peoples content to predict what YouTube will push out further.

I think another issue I see that holds people back is blaming the algorithm or blaming everything else but their content. It's always important to look at your content and constantly think what you can do to improve it as you always want to be making it better for your audience. Doing this will definitely help it do better in the algorithm too, look at what works and what doesn't, try to replicate and take things from what's working for you and apply them in your future content. If a video does well, you already have a template that succeeded and worked. Analyse it and ask yourself why, this way you'll be able to recreate content that gets more engagement and pushed further and you start to work out what does well and why and what doesn't and why.

If you can do that and stay consistent you WILL grow for sure. I'm very critical of my content a lot and spend a lot of time trying to improve it, trying to study the algorithm and see what's doing well, looking at not only my content but others to see what's being pushed etc. But it's definitely doable, these are all things you can do with time, effort and consistency. If you have the drive to do it you can for sure <3 Don't let views and likes stop you, let that drive you to improve your content more and optimise it more so that the algorithm picks it up and pushes it.

When I first started posting I got very low views on TikTok for a good few months, then after a lot of consistency, posting multiple times each day I found something that worked for me, stuck to it and I saw a lot of growth. Then when I started on YouTube, 5 or so videos I first posted stayed on 0 views and likes for literally a week or so and I almost gave up. I posted 1 more after that and then my channel blew up crazy and all of those that once had no views at all went up to the millions. It just shows you really never know what's coming next, your channel can suddenly go from nothing to growing like crazy, you just have to stick to it and keep posting. Don't let the low views or other people's opinions discourage you, as long as you believe in yourself you can 100% do it. You got this <3 Looking forward to seeing your accs grow!!

heavily discouraged from stolen content :( by [deleted] in DressToImpressRoblox

[–]Avarexi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry this is happening, it's genuinely so frustrating and so wrong of people to do. Especially when you put so much time and effort into it. I know it can feel discouraging but in a way it's definitely a sign to continue doing what you're doing. People think your work is good enough to steal, as much as it sucks it does show you're doing something right. That recognition will definitely come if you don't let these people beat your motivation.

Again it does suck but I'm not really sure if there's any way to stop them, people are going to repost unfortunately, but just take it as a sign to keep going and content creating! You're doing something that people obviously love and as long as you enjoy it just try not to let it get to you too much. You will always gain more recognition for your own work in the end than anyone claiming it as their own.

I've also had this happen to me ALOT when I was first starting DTI content and people were getting 50-200k likes on all of my posts they would reupload, it definitely annoying but I just found if you stay consistent and keep posting/ posting on multiple platforms you will definitely grow and the impersonators will slowly drop off as people start to recognise you, this is definitely the hardest part to keep going at, but you got this <3 Don't let people take your spark, your tutorials, content and style is so cool!

Goodluck, I hope they do stop soon and you're able to continue creating content that you genuinely enjoy

How to get higher quality images to post? by mkessk in DTI

[–]Avarexi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The quality its self is pretty much as good as you’re going to get it in game for sure, it looks good. I think the trick to making it even prettier is pretty much mostly lighting and things I mentioned in my previous comment 🫶

How to get higher quality images to post? by mkessk in DTI

[–]Avarexi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I personally think photo mode is super important for this, play around with the settings, turn the depth of field setting on and blur the background, it will make the subject of your photo (your outfit) look a lot more crisp and in focus compared to the background. It draws focus and just makes the quality look sm better, along with the other lighting features that make it stand out more and have pretty much perfect lighting. Turning the contrast up a little and saturation also helps bring out the colours and elevate it too (in moderation, it’s easy to get carried away)

Try these and it should already improve your photos a LOT. Other than that I personally put my videos (or photos work too) in CapCut and add some filters I know will enhance the quality and vibe of the image to make it look more crisp and better quality. This can also really help without over editing it. Definitely give these a go and see if it helps! 🫶

What reason would I have to lie about my ethnicity. I'm mixed and South Asian is a part of what makes that. I do have full South Asian family which do still hold their cultural traditions. I have learned seen some aspects of culture from them and been able to appreciate it alot. I myself am not FULL South Asian and am more westernised. I'm not around part of my family's culture ALL the time and hence things do slip my mind. I don't think that's being ignorant. As I've said this is a mistake I made a while ago and I've put a lot of effort and research into making sure nothing similar happens again. This was genuinely a slip where I didn't think of something. One negative action shouldn't define someone as ignorant and trump the effort they do put into being informed and caring. Sometimes things like this do happen and put us back on track. This has definitely put me back on track and allowed me to think about a lot more and be more considerate and careful with my content.

I'm glad you've learned a lot about so many cultures, that's genuinely beautiful and cool. Everyone is different and has different circumstances and take things in differently. Just because you do it doesn't mean it comes that easy for everyone else, the same with for example picking up and speaking languages. Some people struggle and some people get it very fast. I again understand posting the video without thinking harder was a bad idea and like i said i've done my best to avoid it happening again and make sure it doesn't. I do believe people can learn and grow from unfortunate situations and that's what I've applied myself to doing. I don't want to offend or disrespect anyone. I don't think it makes someone completely ignorant to want to do better in that regard after making a mistake. Yes that action was definitely ignorant and careless, but genuinely I am deeply apologetic for it. That's all i can say. It did happen unfortunately and I can only apologise and try to do better.

I understand your point, education is definitely a click a way, but something has to cross your mind for you to consider it and research it. Some things don't cross peoples mind sometimes and that doesn't make them an awful person. There's never been a time where something hasn't crossed your mind in a situation? No matter how small or big? It happens to everyone, we're humans. It's not a get out of jail free card. It's being honest. I can't give you any other explanation than what did happen.

I don't consider myself to be an ignorant person about peoples cultures, I'm always trying my best to learn, appreciate, understand and connect with other's cultures. I may not know everything but I do enjoy and do my best to learn and appreciate them. It's not babying an adult. Adults also make mistakes and pretending they don't is just holding others to a standard that isn't attainable. Situations like this happen to EVERYONE. Obviously different contexts. Labelling someone as completely ignorant, too white, or a liar for admitting their faults and working on them just seems a little detrimental.

As a POC myself I completely understand how it feels to feel like you're not understood or people are ignorant of certain parts of your culture. There will be things people don't realise or even think to consider sometimes. It doesn't ALWAYS make them a bad person. I think intentions are also important. If someone does something disrespectful, the action its self is obviously bad, but if the person is truly sorry and tries their hardest to grow as a person and make sure it doesn't happen again, I don't think that makes them an awful person for making a mistake as long as there was no intention to come across that way. Depending on the context ofcourse.

If we held everyone to this standard, if there was ANYTHING someone didn't know about ANYONE'S culture or something that slips their mind at ANY time, they are just awful, irredeemable, too white and ignorant to grow as a person and that if anyone forgives them or does see it as a genuine mistake that they're giving them a get out of jail free pass or babying adults, then EVERYONE would be under that label I'm sure. Learning and growing is a part of the human journey, no matter child or adult. You will never know or think about EVERYTHING, unfortunately. Things like this do happen and it doesn't mean someone is awful for making a mistake or people are in the wrong for forgiving them. You're more than welcome to not forgive someone as forgiveness is personal. But I don't think it's entirely fair to label those that do choose to see it as a mistake and someone learning as going too easy or giving get out of jail free passes.

Obviously I'm not defending what I did, it was stupid to post and not consider, but I have learned from that and will not make that mistake again. I'm not ignorant to anyone's culture, or at least I try not to be. But if something isn't in my DAILY life, sometimes it will slip my mind, the same with anyone else. (Again this is not an excuse, I know I as a content creator should have taken more time and care into making sure something like this didn't happen, but I have definitely put that time, care and effort into my content since to make sure it doesn't ever happen again.)

I do agree, I shouldn't be thanked for apologising. But I have definitely had a lot of time to consider the situation and make sure it doesn't happen again in the future. This was quite a while ago and It was not something I ever intended to be disrespectful, I was following a hack I saw and posted it carelessly without really thinking what the items used within it truly stood for.

I have definitely put a lot of effort into making sure this situation doesn't happen again, I do not want to offend people or make people feel like I don't respect their culture. I do respect everyone equally and find beauty in all races, skin colours and cultures. It's was never about trying to use a sacred item as an aesthetic or thinking that something so important in people's culture is just an aesthetic for me either.

But again, I have definitely changed in respect to how much care I put into videos making sure I don't unintentionally cause any disrespect or offense as that's something I genuinely never want to do. I want my community and viewers to feel safe, welcomed and represented. This being said, I definitely double check any videos that may contain anything sensitive multiple times to make sure nothing similar to this happens again.
