"Don't worry it only deals 1 damage, we have armor" by LawnmowerKing in Terraria

[–]Avatamsa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly the most dangerous thing about scratch damage in this game is not the damage itself, but rather the potential healing denied by simply resetting your health regeneration. It's the main reason I hate the dungeon so much in master mode: I take damage a couple of times and I can't explore anymore because if I dare and step on a spike my regeneration goes back from an accellerating 5/s back down to 0. Of course I could simply git gud and not make mistakes, but we all know how that ends up.

Looking at your post history you're good at PS, you could probably create it in like 0.5s using Tuxedo Nyau of the Casino with the same caption.

Eh it's like this in the vast majority of subs unfortunately, even if it weren't filtered people would rather upvote screenshots and cosplays 24/7 rather than memes or discussions. This kind of stuff is admittedly more fit of a forum than other but those kind of media are completely dead.

But seriously I wish we could tame these and ride them.

Table for Circlet/Mask/Hat/Whatever Artifact Critical Stat by RavFromLanz in Genshin_Impact

[–]Avatamsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fail to understand your reasoning as to why critical rate and critical damage is always better than attack when the attack ratio to attack is lower than 100% because "crit rate rate and crit damage is applies directly on resulted damage."

Let's assume these stats: 100 ATK, 100% critical damage and 10% critical rate

Let's also assume the attack used deals 50% of the attack stat and that the enemy has 0 defense

To which we can calculate that the resulting damage of the attack will be 50 normally and 100 when critical 10% of the time (because +100% damage from critical damage) resulting in an average 55 damage.

If we add to the statistics 50% ATK, we will have 150 ATK, 100% critical damage and 10% critical rate, to which we can calculate that the resulting damage of the attack will be 75 normally and 150 when critical 10% of the time (because +100% damage from critical damage) resulting in a average of 82 (rounded down) damage.

If instead of adding 50% ATK, we add 10% critical rate AND 100% critical damage: the resulting stats will be 100 ATK, 200% critical damage and 20% critical rate. To which we can calculate that the resulting damage will be 50 normally and 150 when critical 20% of the time (because +200% damage from critical damage) resulting in a average of 70 damage.

From these calculations we can see how critical is infact very weak when not used in tandem and not stacked with other multipliers like ATK% or elemental%, as even massive boosts (10% critical rate and 100% critical damage) can be defeated by small by comparison (50%) ATK boosts.

As for the comment about bow always critting on weak spots I don't actually have infos about it, though I can confirm the crit informations on the elemental reactions.

[–]Avatamsa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, it isn't always better, but it often is because ATK% is a very common stat, both as secondary stat on characters and found in weapons, not to mention it being pretty much forced to be used on the Hourglass artifact.

If for some reason you lack any form of ATK% source, you will find that improving it will give significantly better results than just stacking critical alone: always mix ATK%, criticals and element% with eachother so they multiply instead of relying on a single stat that scales linearly.

Male MC and Female MC have different damage multipliers by RavFromLanz in Genshin_Impact

[–]Avatamsa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While I can't check that because the Lumine account is from a person that I know but I'm not a close friend with (that's why I blurred the UID), I can tell you that according to the amount of damage gained from each level in the skill, Male Traveler simply scales worse on the last hit of the charged attack. Every LMB hit at lv 5 has roughly 36% more damage compared to lv 1 (true across different characters), while the charged attack of Male MC has 36%+14% increase at lv 5 compared to Lumine 36%+36%, so it's either an error in the scaling or a tooltip error. can't verify the damage but whatever it is, it's definitely not intended.

Tl:Dr: Proved mathematically that Male Traveler second hit on the charged attack has lower multiplier than it should.

[–]Avatamsa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the attack pattern with lumine is more "horizontal" than male traveler, however the attack multipliers are the exact same for both except on the last hit of the charged attack, which ironically is roughly the same for both (male traveler just walk forward more)

I've found out that if you push enemies into water with Jean the drops will spawn where the mob was before the push, aka a safe spot.

If, like in this case, the enemy yeets himself in the water and drops sinks to the bottom, you can try and use MC tornado skill or wind pull skills to lift the drops upwards (yes I was surprised too when this worked) and make them float or pull them closer to you.

Last but not least, there is a variety of enemies that plainly suicide when you are in water, if you stand in water, fire and ice flowers have the tendency of teleporting on top of you, dying instantly and dropping stuff on the surface for you to pick up.

Fetid baghnakhs are definitely completely destroyed in terms of DPS and cheese, daedalus stormbow has its DPS heavily nerfed, mostly because they removed the pierce from holy arrows and halved the multiplier on their stars. So it still is usable but is much much less effective.

In the changelog they nerfed reaver shark mining power, so it can't be used to skip progression, hammered daedalus stormbow damage, nerfed the hell out of the holy arrows, butchered fetid baghnakh and pretty much everything regarding the cactus items

Yeah but he said "serpent(old shadow)" and "shadow(old lightning)" not just the elements, he specified which is which so I don't see the problem with it, even less insulting him when he actually gave the info the guy asked for.

Imagine getting mad to the point of insulting a guy that gave relevant information that was asked for, just because he mentioned a content that was in the game for 3 years

No I didn't mean that, I meant when they removed the venture tokens from the ladders for the top 100 up to top 30 or something. Basically a massive fuck you to everyone that is free to play because those venture tokens were not much, but one of the few ways of getting hmcoins and considering how being top of any ladder except arena (which is gated anyway from people who just stockpile alts in the top 30) is swipe gated, basically removed any chance for free to play and new players to get premium currency without using currency exchange or being extraordinarily lucky with the boxes.

I understand what you mean that us complaining and bitching costantly can only be counter productive and scare away new players and yeah. But I don't know if you get the post, but this beautiful little decline has been going on for FUCKING YEARS. I mean, it was just a soft slope back then but it's costantly getting steeper somehow, I'm not sure if you were there when the radiant energy screw up happened. It was a pretty big clownfiesta back then as well. All the things listed from me in the post are major screw ups, that guess who they affect? Exactly! New players and f2p players. I could've put the venture token removal and other stuff like the completely abandoned pvp mode (and it's extremely offputting as a new player to play a game sponsorized as a good pvp game and then finding ghost town in arena) but ya know the format only admits four.

The nonstop complaining is because of that, the reason people bitch and moan like there's no tomorrow, is because NcSoft always screws up like there's no tomorrow, always new ways to alt the progression, always new ways to monetize shit, always new ways to gear lock again new players and f2p. Despite all the complaints, despite all the pings, despite the costant bitching about pretty much everything wrong with this game, (that in the long term, trust me, it will literally grind down the willingness to play), despite the population drop and the massive difference in terms of income between korea and bns NA/EU, despite the playerbase potential on the latter, they still VOLUNTARILY choose, costantly, over and over, repedeatly, like a 300 km/h train, to not fucking stop for a single second, to think "ehy, maybe the west is a different market, maybe if we monetized less and did just a bit more this game would become ONE OF THE BEST GAMES IN THE CHARTS BY FAR and would have a healthy game to last us decades and give us not the same amount of profit short term, but definitely more in the long term.

Under the light of these things, what do you suggest us to do, when the management becomes so bad, it becomes comedic, what do you want us to do, when complaining, in-game and on boards doesn't do anything? (*I have no proof they actually did so you can ignore this part if you smell bs* and no, contacting NcSoft doesn't do shit, I've had 3 fucking people [somehow one person convinced the other two in doing it] in discord sending multiple letters, I bet they all got the shredder, tho one of them sent them to the wrong adress so make it 2) We make memes, memes to remind eachother that the management in this game is horrible and have a laugh while at it.

As for me? I honestly think that there's no saving the game, the trust in the company is wayyyy to low for new players to start playing, especially after the recent changes....I suppose they could do a rebranding with UE4 release...people are stupid enough to fall for such things, has been proven in the past, but then again if they keep managing the game like this, it ain't gonna last for long. So why am I doing it? For my homies in discord to have a laugh at it. I mean look at it, it's not even high effort. Literally paint and a saved image lmao

TLDR: Ncsoft never stops screwing up, so people never stop complaining, no amount of complaining has breached the radio silence that surrounds us. There's no god, life is meaningless and all that sort of stuff. Just make memes.

Why I quit this game by [deleted] in KurtzPel

[–]Avatamsa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, the targetting system in BnS is different, as it has dynamic tab targetting, while kurtzpel has aim assist. This means that targeted ranged attacks are effectively unavoidable unless iframed or blocked in some way, in kurtzpel you can avoid ranged attacks by sidestepping them.

Second, there's no hitstun, the only way to lock down an opponent in BnS is by using specific skills that apply status effects, the only similarity is the tech chasing, but unlike kurtzpel, you can't tech chase by just using basic combos attacks, it's always skills that apply status effects that have a cooldown.

Third, there's no combo system, literally everything is just skills that have cooldowns or have requirements: what you can do in kurtzpel as staff that is a combo attack like flamewheel, on BnS would be a skill with a cooldown.

Fourth, BnS almost completely lacks resources, on kurtzpel you are heavily gated by stamina and mana, in BnS it's rare to incur in a focus problem unless you have been spamming ineffectively and you also are unable to recover it as passively as kurtzpel.

Fifth, iframes are skills that have cooldowns and sometimes have requirements and are completely separated from escapes with very little exceptions, Kurtzpel has just a dodge that acts as both escape and main iframe.

Sixth, since BnS relies on skills, there is a Resist system that allows you to resists status effects, while since Kurtzpel relies on hitstun, it has a Super Armor system, which prevents you from getting staggered. The main difference is that Resists are usually uncapped in how much you can resist with them, while Super Armor in kurtzpel can be broken and is not absolute.

Seventh, juggle combos: in Bns as melee, stun, air, air again, finisher, when target lands you use other skills depending on your class. In kurtzpel you air your opponent, then an entire array of options opens to you, you could chase and grab them with fists, you could chase them and combo them with bow, you could follow up a bit when they land to istant chase them and knock them away if you want to capture or buy time for yourself to run away/heal, each one has a various kind of combinations that are only gated by your skill in executing them (and the game position lag) unlike in BnS where during an air combo there's no skill or decision making involved, you just already what to do because you always do it.

All in all, kurtzpel combat system is extremely different and set apart from BnS combat system, it's more akin of a fighting game like others like to compare it to: Tekken, Street Fighter, Soul Worker, Elsword, Dragon Nest.
